SO my period was 4 days late, and it was heavy the first day. its now the second day and its almost over. my boobs hurt really bad still but when they do hurt, its usually just before and they stop when i get my period. Could my period just be having one of those really weird wacky moments? I am 14 so if that helps and I haven't had sex so I don't think thats a problem with this.

God bless you for asking questions and I praise your curiousity to find out about your periods. I applaud you for not having sex at a tender age. As a teen I'm sure you are under tremendous pressures of teenagehood. Welcome to the doctors site. This is a good place to be to get some answers and support. What age did your periods start? I was a late bloomer and did have some pain in my boobs everytime my period started. I was too embarrassed to talk about it to my mother. I confided in friends only to find out some of them experienced the same pain when their periods came. I hope you feel comfortable enough to talk with your mother and friends and you should keep a diary of what happens when your period comes and how long each one lasts and if things get too painful please go see a doctor you feel comfortable with. You will be in my thoughts. Please keep us posted.
Hi
I'm not a doctor but I know a lot about periods and have had many period problems, when I was a virgin, and now that I am not. With your current period situation, there are many factors that can cause what you are going through, such as diet, exercise and stress. Honestly your symptoms are quite normal, if the heavy bleeding continues for more than 7 days straight, then I would talk to a doctor. In the mean time I would drink lots of water, cut down on sugars(candies and pop) go for some walks with your friends or parents. A healthy lifestyle can regulate your periods at any age.
Oh and one more thing; when your breasts are in pain or if you have bad cramps, don't hold your breath, it will actually make the pain worse. As hard as it is to breath when you are in severe pain, just keep trying, trust me it will help.
I hope you feel better soon
Take Care

Hey. I'm a 14 year old as well and I have had this problem in the past. I'm not too sure about the boobs hurting because that's never happened to me... I had irregular periods and when it came, it was heavy and lasted for more than a week or less than 2 days. I immediately told my mother and went to see an endocrinologist. After being put on Yaz (a form of birth control), it all went back to normal and the hormones were regulated. I'm not a medical professional or anything, but I'd advise you to ask your mom about seeing an endocrinologist and to see your pediatrician. Also, I'd like to let you know that you're never alone and I'll always be here for support!
Good luck! Love, Marissa.
