It's day 2 of my 31 day plan, and I started out great. I drank 9 cups of water, danced for 45 minutes, and ended up reducing my calories to 1300 yesterday. I'm going to change up my calorie intake every day, trying to trick my body into losing weight by fooling my metabolism. So today I might end up at 1200, or 1400, you get the picture. Plus I'll do different exercises daily to keep my metabolism on it's toes, so later today I might to weight lifting and yoga, tomorrow I'll go for a walk.
Just a couple months ago, I started to eat a more vegetarian diet and less meat. It was very easy for me because I generally don't like meat to begin with. I even stopped buying salmon recently (I get Omega 3s through eggs, Udo's 3-6-9 oil vegetarian blend, almond butter, etc).
Now I'm near-vegan! That's because I stopped consuming dairy a long time ago already, due to lactose intolerance, as well as my belief that dairy products aren't really that good for you anyway. So the only animal products I consume now is Omega 3 free range eggs and whey protein (considered dairy but is extremely beneficial to health: www.wheyoflife.org). I even found a company that makes free range whey protein powder!
Here's what I ate yesterday, which is taken from my weight-loss diary:
Breakfast:
Whey protein powder, unsweetened almond milk, 1/2 banana, 1/2 cup of blueberries in a smoothie
Snack:
4 small stalks of organic celery and 2 tablespoons of Trader Joes almond butter
Lunch:
Slightly over 1 ounce of mixed raw nuts
Alkaline smoothie: 1/2 avocado, organic kale, 1/3 apple, 1/2 banana, coconut water
Dinner:
gluten free, vegan bean and rice burrito
1/2 avocado
3/4 cup steamed organic green peas
1 cup of organic carrot juice
(1320 calories and 4,500mg POTASSIUM!)
As you can see, I've been eating a lot of beans, veggies, fruit, and nuts. I've had so much energy since changing over to a vegetarian/vegan diet!
No junk food, no sugar, no meat, no processed foods + fruit, veggies, beans, nuts = ENERGY! Life! Happiness!
