I understand the severity of Autism and the conufusion, and as always, people looking to put the blame somewhere on things that are so little understood and still under investogation.. such things take time and years to find true answers to.
However, I was very taken aback by Dr. Travis's reaction.. we all know, anyone that has ever watched and listened to Dr. Phil that anger comes from fear and yelling is a sign of fear-I feel that Dr. Travis did more yelling, lashing out and showed more anger than Jenny McCarthy and JB Handley. I feel so sorry for Dr. Travis, his reaction leads me to believe that perhaps Dr. Travis questions his own belief, as to whether vaccines are actually not the culprit? I also felt that Dr. Travis took it very personal and felt some responsibility towards reassuring people that vaccines are not the cause.
I am extremely surprised at his reaction and feel a little scared by it...I do not have a child with Autism nor do I know anyone that does though, I feel confused at this point after the show.
I absolutely love the show and have great respect and appreciation for all the doctors that do the show and are such a blessing to all of us however.
Did anyone else feel as I did?

my take on Dr. Travis' reaction was because Mr. Handley made it a point to say "some ER doctor". that made it a personal attack on him.

I think we are just used to seeing the good Doc at his best. This particular area of expertise is something even the so called experts don't seem to know anymore about then the rest of us do. I am currently in the process of writing my final research paper on Autism, Thimerosal and Chelation Therapy. There is more then enough validity to require that research in this direction continues and that it most definitely should not be so easily dismissed. What I would like to know is how many of these very same vaccine advocates have allowed their children to be immunized with vaccines containing Thimerasol. I am guessing many demanded single dose vials which are known not to contain the potential neurological damaging heavy metal.
You may right droberts. And Dr. Dr. Travis was right. It's not only vaccines that causes autism. There are lots of risk fatcors during pregnancy that might result to any disabilities.
It was a personal attack. And anyone who attacks personally will get the shackles rising on my back. I don't believe Dr. T was fearful, he was plainly put, pissed off (can we say that?) But that's my opinion.
He was just speak his mind and what the facts are stating about vaccines not causing autism and that really no one knows what causes the chemical imbalance in these kids heads. I agree with him completely it is our enviroment we live in. These doctors are only going by what they are told they have no control over when to give certain vaccines someone has made up a chart on what ages certain vaccines are to be given. I am as a person trying to read up more on autism and vaccines and I will continue. I am not doing this as a doctor or a parent i am neither I am just trying to find out that facts and once I find out i will let you know.
