A Taboo Topic

I keep asking the Doctors to talk about people who are Intersexed or Transsexual and I have not yet see or heard anything. We have suffered for many of years and there is help but no one can or wants to talk about it. This does not allow others to understand our condition keeping it taboo. The only thing you do hear its sinful or evil and I ask why because I was born this way. I have heard and seen the Doctors talk about sex many times so why is talking about my topic so much worst or taboo. It is a shame most of the world has double standards and discriminate regularly against some people. We have health needs too and want to live our life in peace what is so wrong with that. I have found or the years men have the biggest problem with this topic because they are afraid they maybe sexually attracted to us and that would make them feel Gay and many women I think are just plain jealous we can look better than they do. Are these really good reasons I think not its because you don't understand and I was hoping the Doctors could help in making you understand by guess that is not going to happen yet thanks to the fact everyone see us as sinful and evil because that is what they have been told over the years because everything is sinful or evil if you don't understand it. I am not ashame of who I am and I feel blessed because I see the world from both sides of gender I am part Cherokee and people like me were though to have two spirits.created on: 11/07/08

You are so right. There are so many people out in the world who are closed minded.I think though that they are really not educated on this subject. You should go to the message boards and under the topic feedback and tell your story.

I believe that every human being has a right to be happy.IMO.

LeslieTS

Your right Deathwish but was talking about the Doctors only. This is the place that should have no problem talk about it but I have not heard anything yet. I want the medical field in general to be more open to us. I know it doesn't sound like a big deal to most but there are Doctors out there that will not see us.

LeslieTS

So people can understand better and not condemn us for it. Is that too much to ask for Deathwish?

Deathwish; The topic is to educate people who don't understand. That's the only way I think some people will not be so closed minded. There will be people who stick to their beliefs and won't listen. But everyone has a right to be happy and live a life without discrimination.

See Deathwish you are exactly what I'm talking about people thinking that this is some how a choice because they don't understand. This is what you have been taught by others that didn't understand. I wish people could see and feel all the pain and suffering I have went through over my life time than they would understand. Have you really looked at people and saw both the female and male sides because everyone has them take a real good look at people some males are very male while others are not or some females look very female while others look more male. Is this their fault or choice they look this way no they were born this way and this is my point here I was born this way and had on choice in the matter.

He may have been but I do. I'm just trying to correct a defect same as they do for any other defects. Its like saying you must  become a different race, gender or color of your eyes or hair. My life is all down hill because of my age I'm trying to help the ones that are young so they don't have to go through all the hell I did. It was a very different world in the early 50's to late 60's.

LeslieTS

Sometimes I think people think I can rub off on them.

I hope so too. Educating ones mind to be open is the answer to world peace.

Hi Leslie!!!  I just wanted to welcome you to the site!  We are happy to have you here with us.

Deathwish, I think you are being a bit bias on "equal treatment".  The Doctors have shown MANY shows for the sole purpose of issues regarding cosmetic surgery for vanity... NOT a medical condition that need to be corrected by the surgeries.  They did those surgeries for those people because they understand that your MENTAL health is just as important as physical... So by saying it's ok for a woman to sit on the panel of The Doctors show and speak about all her vanity issues, then I think it's quite fair to say that someone with valid issues, such as Leslie, should have that same opportunity.  If you truly believe in equality, you fully understand it has nothing to do with race, gender, age or social status.

I think you are absolutely beautiful the way you are.  Male, Female and Transexual are ALL EQUAL and beautiful.

You have no issues with the way you look.  If your seeking other information, I hope the doctors can assist you.

Dear Leslie, first I'd like to say Kudos to you.  You are doing something that I consider to be very brave.  My best friend in high school was in the same situation.  She was born with female parts but a male heart and soul.  I believe we all have a chance to teach someone something in this lifetime.  If it is done properly, everyone grows.  You are a beautiful woman who has had a long road.  If the drs. don't ever discuss this subject, at least we all will have learned something from you.  You have a chance to educate everyone and break through the ignorance.  You were fortunate to have the support from your children. The fact that you are here and putting up pictures, etc, is going to open doors and windows for others in your position.  Look ar Sonny and Cher's child, Chaz.  He grew up in the spotlight with knowledge that he would never be happy until the day he has the surgery to "complete" him.  I really admire you and i wish you well.  Keep blogging.  the navy blue dress is most flattering, you must invest in some underpinnings.  bobbie

i believe Deathwish has missed the point.  Being born male and never feeling "right" will wear on you every day.  I had a friend who was considered gay, but she was born feeling like a boy.  No one would choose the abuse heaped on a person who "society" deems different. This reminds me of a poem I read about Asperger's syndrome.  You get on the plane to go to paris (or wherever) and you wind up in Spain.  It is still a beautiful place to visit, but not what you were expecting.  that is a good analogy for transgendered people.  They love Spain, but they have to see Paris.  It isn't a question of if,it is a question of when.  Just my humble (COUGH, COUGH) opinion.  Good night all.  bobbie

Why do you fight the facts because you don't understand them. Many of us don't understand why maybe one day they will. I have read they think they have found the gene responsible for making us this way just like many defects from birth have been. You seem so angry all the time take a breath and start enjoying life.

Leslie, Death Wish is a fifteen year old girl. Hopefully we can all learn something from each other here on this site.  i know I have learned so much and met so many great people here.  Bobbie

Deathwish, all I am saying is that Leslie WAS born this way.  She did not choose to live as a woman trapped in the body of a man.  In her mind, heart and soul, she has ALWAYS been a woman.  In the past if someone was gay, bi, bi-curious, etc., it was kept quiet.  Yesterday I was at graduation rehearsal and there were openly gay and lesbian students.  I wanted to yell Halleluiah, because I think it is time people realize THIS IS NOT A CHOICE.  People are born this way, just like I was born with blue eyes.  It is part of who they are.  I feel I can speak on this subject because two of my brothers in law are gay.  Have you heard of Matthew Sheppard?  He was a beautiful, young, gay man with a loving family.  He was beaten and tied to a fence and died.  Solely because he was gay.  The men who killed him picked him up in a gay bar.  My best friend in H.S. was born female, but she was totally a male.  I lost touch with her but I hope she had the surgery.  Everyone deserves to be happy.  Bobbie
