Lorie Collins' Blog

woohoo!! passed the chair test

well it has been busy the past week or two...last night it was just the icing on the cake, our next door neighbours, very nice people who have had a string of bad luck and it sort of continued last night.  The husband came across last night around dinner time, yes i had everything on the stove or pot.  he was banging on the door, i didn't know what it was, i tried looking out the peep hole and sad to say with what goes on today with breakins and home invasions yes even in apartments, i was leary about opening the door, i asked Mike to, he backed off, mom opened it and all he said was call 911...and then collapesd towards my mom.  scary to say the least, i ran for the phone to call and mom who is less than 100 lbs and around 5' 2" and he is like 6'0"...tried to catch him.

he said he had food poisoining but i believe it was a stroke, i have had food poisioning and i didn't act like that. fire and paramedics came and his wife all at the same time.  he is resting...but talk about scary..

however, that isn't the real reason for my blog...it does remind me that life is prescious with who you share it with...love them now now later.  and really look for the signs of stroke, heart attack etc...

i decided to weigh myself again this morning after last week's weigh in...down another 5 lbs...so i am now 40 lbs lighter and at a new weight of 274 lbs...loving it...

we have a patio set and for the last few years i haven't been able to sit in it or if i did ihad the fear of it collapsing...now i tried it yesterday and i fit!!

yay me...

oh, i didn't get the job at the fitness centre, they gave it to a young girl who is also a personal trainer...not sad, but i know i can afford that gym...

love life everyone!!!  cheers!!!

Wow scary!  Good for you and your Mom for keeping your heads and getting help - you very likely saved a life, it does sound like a stroke to me.  That's a big lesson for all of us to stay on track and get healthy.

Congrats on the chair success!  LOL!  I know the feeling - hubby and I broke a bed once, but that was actually kinda fun.  ;-D

omg...i broke out bed two years ago and we had to go out and buy a metal frame and box spring mattres....Mike was soooooooooo mad at me...i felt really bad, i was going to go out and buy the exact same bed...he said why bother, you will only break it again...at the time i was in tears because i really did feel bad then mom and i got laughing afterwards..

now the bed is sturdy and i haven't broke it yet...but he still reminds me of it...

and yes another good reason to get fit and healthy...was very scary...
