So...yesterday my wife and I started our journey on the 17-day diet--we finally have come to the decision that food can no longer rule our lives--at least for me, it has for the 17 years or so. I have tried every diet on the sun--Atkins, Weight Watchers, South Beath, The Rice Diet--you name it--I failed on it. Hopefully, with the 17-day Diet, I will finally treat it as a lifestyle and not a diet.
I made it through Day 1, which presented itself with a myriad of food-related challenges, but none greater than meandering through Costco and craving pizza, ice cream, and worst of all a chicken bake! It truly took all of my willpower not to fail before I even started; however, my wife and I made it, and I grilled us some cheicken marinated in fat-free italian dressing and a plethora of sauteed peppers and onions. It was absolutely delicious, and it took the pains of hunger away immediately.
As I am half-way through day two, I have been having some headaches related to either carbohydrate or sugar withdrawls...do not know which one yet, but I have craved things like peanut butter, chips, and even a diet soda...but I am holding strong because as my wife said, "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels."
I am hoping everyday becomes easier and easier to resist the temptations of lifestyle and a weight I want to never ressurrect.
Thanks.

I think the cravings do get better. After just five days I was ok with the food we were allowed to eat. It definitely helps when both of you go on the diet together. I know I couldn't do it without my husband! Good luck!!!
