Maybe they've put up the video of it by now? A boy (the "twist" at the end was that it was actually the Doctors show producer's son) was suffering from chronic sinus infections and sinusitis. The doctors all told him he needed surgery, but it is invasive. Then they discovered a new non-invasive procedure that goes up the nose and somehow gets rid of the blockage or inflamed polyps (not exactly sure of the terminology). Pretty much painless...and no cutting.
Its called balloon sinuplasty. A great new tool in treating sinus infection. It opens up the sinus airways to let air into the sinuses. Most infections are caused from the sinuses not letting air in, creating a great enviroment for infection--moisture, no air...I had this surgery after 3 yrs of suffering from a very antiboitic resistant infection. My dr went a step further and in planted stents that left the airway open for the next 30 day, then took them out. And it worked!! I had to go under anesthesia because of the stents, but the in office procedure looks so promising! The sinuses need air not antibiotics. I was on IV antibiotics three times---no luck, until i found a dr-on THE DRS TV show doing this new procedure. Dr. Brian Weeeks from San Diego. I would give it a try. Non invasive and no antibiiotics! A win-win! Good luck!!
WOW... very cool, thank you both so much, I will try to find a ENT doc here in Vegas that does the procedure
THANKS !
