My teeth are pretty sensetive to cold foods, and when I have something sweet, my whole mouth starts to feel very uncomfortable. I was reading around a little bit, and people were saying that its due to the low levels of enamel on my teeth. Any suggestions?

By chance do you use Listerine? I was using Listerine (contains alcohol) and the same thing happened to me so I stopped it an I was fine in a couple of days. My dentist told me to switch to ACT, which is alcohol-free, and I use it every day without a problem. What kind of toothpaste do you use? Idk if you can rebuild enamel; I didn't think you could, but I'm not a dentist.
Melissa.
I don't use Listerine, the toothpaste I use is Crest. I have read that having a diet which contains a higher level of acidic foods can wear down tooth enamel.
NotThatGuy .. I've read that also about the acidic foods. There are toothpastes that are specifically for sensitive teeth. Maybe you can try one of those?
Melissa.
Yeah, I think Pronamel is one to give a try, I think it's made by Sensodyne, which targets sensitive teeth. Good luck.
Something I just remembered! Don't brush your teeth right after you eat foods containing acid! Something about the enamel, it softens right after you eat acidic foods and takes time to reharden. So brushing when the enamel is soft is not good, to say the least. I think the rule of thumb is wait 30 minutes before brushing.
OK, Thanks!
No problem! You're welcome.
