Post Comments - after carpel tunnel surgery

NayNay

my mom had carpel tunnel surgery and she is still in pain every once in a while. But she is still not at 100% to go back to wrk she has to have a job without heavy lifting. her surgery was about 6 years ago but all surgeries are different. As a massage therapist i would say go to a massage therapist believe it or not we are pretty good at helping with that stuff.  We can help with the scar tissue u might have. but of course always talk to your doctor and see if he thinks it might be a good idea. I know it helped my mom. have any question just ask me. good luck

Try massageing the hand sometimes that works for me when something is hurting me. If that don't work try drinking water or eating chocolate believe it or not their both natural pain killers.

Dear HorseCrazy,It was a ortho hand doctor that did it but the doc I am seiing now wasnt even in the room when it they did the surgery and I am seeing a hand pt but i my line of work I cant wear a brace.  I contantly wash my hands and have to lift heavy objects.  Right now I'm not worried about money but if this goes on a long time I will be hurting. Thanks for commenting back.  Karen

A hand specialist can help you better. Hand PT can help a lot.

I still had pain after caprol (Check Spelling) tunnel surgery. I went to a hand surgeon. She said I injured the nerve casing that went through the knuckle on my thumb. She ordered a soft brace for my hand. It works. That was a couple of years ago, and I still wear it from time to time. The original injury was when I accidentally slammed my van door on my thumb after getting my groceries out of the front seat. Yikes! That was 3or 4 years ago. Was your surgery done by an orthopaedic surgeon or a hand surgeon?
