The Power of Commitment ...

Commitment starts with desire.  You have a want or need -- something physical perhaps, or emotional; even if you're not entirely clear on where it is your desire will lead, you recognize and desire a change.  I liken desire that seems to align itself as recongnition that to obtain desired results change needs to occur soasnotto end up in the same place in the end - especialy when the end is not where you desired to be.

A good next step is to find clarity on what avenue your desire will travel, how you will define the change that you want.  This is when you find your purpose or goal.  A desire without a purpose will be shallow and fleeting, and will not produce success nor growth.  You need to declare a clear and defined goal and determine the path necessary to attain that goal.  Once you have determined your goal, or aspire to a particular end result you have to recognize and be willing to expend the proper effort.  A purpose or goal with no effort expended will remain, at the very best, a dream; and at worst, shame and guilt which yields specter.

Recognizing your strengths and weaknesses is the beginning to being able to see your individual path to success.  To make the most of your effort you are willing to make, having a clear assessment of what areas you need to work on is vital.  Effort for one person may translate into having more time available for expanding the social network; for another, the effort may lie more in being able to effectively give a business presentation.  It is common for us to be willing to expend effort in the areas where we know we are effective or "good at".  Most of us need to expend effort on the weak areas we have, if we wish to shift our lives onto a path of great personal and professional success.

Just how is we turn weakness into strength?  The answer lies in the transformational power of real commitment.  When we are determined to work at it, we need to discover and employ effective action.  This can be achieved through duplication.  Emulate and duplicate.

Make sure you don't get caught up in action that it is not effective.  The can lead to exhaustion and disappointment with little or no true movement toward achieving the desired results.  Often people believe that what they know is difficult to share with others.  The problem is this ineffective action.  Surely you've witnessed where an inferior idea, product or plan succeeded where yours may well have done better.  Don't find yourself looking back and wondering if success could have been achieved previously - just make note of the feeling you had when looking back on it and know that action attains results.

Be sure and ask me what it is I'm referring to having you commit to?  At this point I've not revealed any idea.  I've left it rather vague for a number of reasons, not the least of which is having you fill in the blanks.  Frm a writer to reader prespective I cannot tell you what you desire?  I cannot suggest what you should feel compelled to do?  I will not suggest I know better than you what you should commit to doing?  I can however suggest that you start with something.  After achieving success at any level will give you the motivation to commit to another task at hand, and before you know it you'll be not only achieving success - but you'll be successful.

I challenge you to imagine the feeling of knowing, after you've achieved a number of goals and successes, that you are now being emulated by someone who is setting new goals.  That is the power of duplicaton.  Who do you aspire to be?

Then get'r done!
