7 days on the 17 dd

Hi all, I'm so happy today, I've been on the 17dd for 7 days now (a whole week) and have just weighed myself.

7 days ago when I started I was 126.3kgs, after this mornings weigh in 124 kgs. 2.3 kgs (5 pounds). My goal is to get to 85 kgs, 39 kgs (89 pounds) to go. I am so determined to do this & learn to keep it off.

Im not finding the diet too hard, as I noticed I'm not hungry as I normally would be, getting those 8 cups of water seem to be one thing that I've found difficult. Food I'm loving, fresh snapper, salmon, chicken breast are great, where I'm from Turkey isn't readily available, but in saying that my local butcher has turkey drumsticks, so I got a few of those last week. I was so amazed at how big they are, I was able to have 3 meals out of the 1 drumstick. I've also noticed because I'm not eating as much, what a huge savings on the food bill. I buy all my fresh veg and fruit for the week, I bag up stuff for my steamed veg or stir frys, bang it in the freezer for when I need, I do the same with my meat too. Break them down into meal portions.

One thing I must say I'm not enjoying and its the egg whites, I had scrambled 1 day, not great. I tried making an omelette one time, still not great. I don't mind boiled and take the yolk out, then add to a salad. But other than that, Im trying to adjust.

Anyway, I'm loving the journey and can't wait to be a fitter, sexier, healthier me.

Good luck to all, til my next blog.

Ps...there are some great recipe ideas on here too that I'm enjoying.

Im looking to start this tomorrow (just bought the cookbook).  I may have missed it in the book, but how do you know how much food you can have?  Aren't you supposed to go down to 1200 calories?  Also, regarding the green tea is it plain unsweatened green tea?:

I"m really excited to start this.  Any info would be great!!  Thanks!

Hey alta224, how are you going?, Yeah, I'm still getting to grips with quantities also, but I found that by the recipes in the book and recipes on here kinda give you a indication of how much you can have. I'm just sticking with what it says in the book, ie 2 serving of fruit, the proteins we are allowed to have, the probiotics, then as much cleansing veges. If u feel hungry during the times that aren't meals, you can have vegs. But my rule of thumb to myself is, your fist size for your protein, then the rest cleansing veg, but also breakfast seems to be a lot less, That's what I've been doing. I'm not sure how to count calories, but I do journal everything on a app that I downloaded free called, my fitness pal. It records your food, water, weight, fitness, it's really good.

And with the green tea, yeah plain.

This is just what I'm doing, I'm still a beginner at this, but been fighting the overweight problem for 20 years or so, so knowing what's right and wrong food going in my gob, different other diets over the years, you start to pick up on this and that lol.

This diet to me is going to be a lifestyle change, not just something to fix a problem til you reach your goal, but something that I will learn to incorporate in my life to keep the weight off & live healthy. I know there will be hurdles chucked at me along the way, but making the right choices will be the key.

Good luck on your journey

Ok, so now It works..

So today is 14 days c1, and I weighed this morning. I've lost 800 grams, that's pretty awesome considering I had been naughty during this week.  That brings a total loss of 3.2 kgs (6.83 pounds). I didn't gorge myself on naughty things, more like had a little of this and a little of that. Sweet things I had were a couple of those weight watchers puddings, ie 1 choc moose and the other was the choc sauce pud, not all in the same night. I noticed this week that I'm craving carbs, I'm so used to having them on a daily basis, my body is trying to adapt with them gone lol. That's been quite hard. The first week It didn't affect me so much, but the second week a way different story. The other thing I've been trying to adapt to is no alcohol, before the 17 dd, I would drink alcohol at least once a week, consisting of 6-12 sugar packed vodka premix cans, I've changed to red wine..I know the book says 1 glass of red wine a night, but how I seem to interpret that is 1 bottle of red for the week,, I know, I know, shocking isn't it. My water intake hasn't been great, again the first week there was no probs, but the second. Hmmmm . Weekend exercise, not good this week, during the week good, I usually pump out 30-40 mins a day of brisk walking, great thing with walking my child to a from school.

Until my next update, keep up the good work all

Hi all, today I'm at day 2 c2...I weighed in on the 17th day of c1 and had dropped a further 1.3 kgs (2.8 pounds) giving a grand total for the last 17 days 4.39 kgs (9.7 pounds). I am very happy about this. Now it's cycle 2, I've brought me some new things as the book suggests we are allowed to have. A lot of new things that I've never tried before, like quinoa, beans, couscous, flax meal. Great thing about the Internet is how to cook these new things lol. Im looking forward to new recipes and tasting the new food.

Continued on,  This last week has been ok, not great with the water intake again, exercise good, food not too great. Like I said in my last update, craving carbs. So what I did was get me some lite cruskits crackers, ie for 2 (60 calories) and I pump it up with salad and a little bit of fish, chicken or turkey. That's acting as my bread lol, I'm aware that I'm not suppose to have these, but hey I need some kind of happiness on here. I also have these as a snack, abit of lite butter and marmite, dats all I need. Where I am at the moment, I am happy and on a roll, 21 kgs to go to get to my first goal target. If I keep getting good results il be stoked. Keep it up evryone still on the 17dd

Ok so it's day 4 c2,  weighed in this morning 1 kg lighter, total  5.4 kgs (11.9 pounds). I'm loving the new foods allowed on c2,  Ive tried a couple of new things, quinoa and flaxseed meal, loving it. I had the quinoa for breakfast as a porridge and also lunch as a salad. I made 2 oz, (book says 2. 1/2 oz). There was heaps, so I only had half, the other half I made into a salad. I still don't think il be eating it all, I'm already getting full and I've only had a quarter of it.

Ive also been doing a few other things...

I saw on here someone posting how to make probiotic fat free sour cream out of the yoghurt. I did it, turned out awesome. (I just had some with my kumara (sweet potato) with lunch), beautiful!!!

I made some Carob chips, instead of having cocoa, have carob, it's better than cocoa, no caffeine.

Pure organic  coconut oil, for cooking, for everything, check this out. http://www.organicfacts.net/organic-oils/organic-coconut-oil/health-benefits-of-coconut-oil.html

flaxseed meal, I saw that in the recipe section, someone had a recipe for pizza crust and focaccia bread, I have been craving bread something ugly. Apparently we are allowed to have flaxseed meal (I haven't seen it in the book), which makes me a little skeptical.

Day 11, C2...weighed this morning, another 1 kg gone!! Feeling really good, buzzing at how much weights dropping off,  6.4 kgs (14.10 pounds) in 4 weeks. Woohoo!!! I've got to say my eating is so bizarre, eating new things, not eating junk food. I've had takeaways ie subway 6 inch, chicken chowmein with noodles, BBQ food and a few other things. I don't over eat if I'm having a cheat. New things I've tried this week are, flax meal pizza (ie flat bread), put toppings on top, spicy chick peas.

Also I've noticed the energy level have been high, enjoying my walking every day, the hill that I beat up and down is my best buddy. Even my overweight dog loves coming walking twice a day with me lol. I need to start adding in different exercises. I'm noticing my clothes, especially my tshirts, they go on me easily and sit nicely instead of bulging out the sides lol. I am loving this & feeling great.

Til my next update, Go Hard people

I've just noticed, when I enter a blog, usually the day I weigh, it's not using my date..not too sure if that's got to do with I'm not in the states. Like I logged in today, which is the 19/9 weds, and it reads the 18/9.

Day 14 c3, weighed in today 1 kg loss for the past 2 weeks. I've been kinda slack. I'm surprised that Ive managed to keep it off since my last weigh. I got disappointed at myself at the last weigh 2 weeks ago, I had only dropped 100 grams for that week.  Being on c3 has been ok, too me it's like abit too relaxed, I'm not as strict as I've been previously. But after today's weigh, it's given me a good boost of incouragement to keep me on track.

C2 day 3, second time round. Completed 1-3 for 1 month & 3 weeks. Weighed in today, a whopping 2.1 kgs (4.6 pounds). Total loss 9.6 kgs (21.6 pounds)....Woohoo!! Loving it, loving it. I can't believe I dropped so much in this last week, it seems like I'm not doing anything different except include more food on this cycle (3) and more relaxed. But now that I'm back to c2, oops back to less.

if it keeps up, I'm happy at that.

So it's been a month since last here, weighed in today 113.7kgs, last here 116.7kgs, so lost 3 kgs. Yet my last weigh in was 115.5 kgs, so 1.8 kgs. I'm still happy, it's still dropping even though I haven't been hard out on the diet. I still do the lemon water, green tea (not as often), water wen I remember. I notice I try and make an effort to not make bad choice with food, not to stuff my face with too much food.  Til my next update....
