I had my baby boy at home with a midwife and it was the most amazing experience ever! We didn't want to have our baby in a hospital because we did not want to use drugs and did not want pressure to get a c-section. I know that doctors push for patosin then the mother needs an epideral for the pain the patosin is causing, then it's been so long that they have to get a c-section. Ce-sections are one of the most done surgeries that's why people think that it's not high risk, when actually it is one of the most dangerous surgeries. I can understand when it has to be done, but i think most of the time they are done they don't need to be. The c-section rate is ridiculous. we did not want to go through all this. Plus the doctors sometimes put a time on how long you can be in certain stages of labor. We basically didn't want any kind of intervention during labor. We wanted it to be a natural experience. I was only in labor 12 hours and pushed for 30 minutes. I was able to walk freely around my house which sped my labor and it eased the pain big time! So i guess it depends on what you want to do, and if your not high risk. but homebirth was an amazing experience, and i will definitely been doing it with our next one, if all goes well during pregnancy.
