About Me

Hi I'm 53 yrs in this world most of it spent overweight.  In 1999 I had the Gastric-by-pass surgery went from 269 lbs to 160 in 8 months.  it is the best decision I ever made.  problem is age and enviroment catches up.  I quit smoking 3 times and gained 10 pounds each time.  I am 6 yrs quit smoking.  my thyroid is functioning with the help of medication.  at this time I weight 196 and would like to get down to the 160.  surprizingly I look good at that weight.  oh and for anyone that doesn't believe it there are people out there with heavy bones and looks are deceiving. when I went in for the by-pass they didn't think I was big enough until they weighed me.  I'm hoping my book will arrive within the next week and I'm ready to start in fast.  I exercise 45 minutes a day doing a 20 minute mile and another ten minutes on the NuStep which I love I listen to my Ipod- (sheena easton) and put in 2500 steps.  then my boyfriend and I play or use the Wii for more exercise in the evenings. 

I'm the mother of one and have 6 grandchildren.  I love my family and my job. I look forward to getting to know any and all that would like to work together to make this work.  more to come.

6 month update

Hi All,  Kevin & I started this life change on Jan 24th of this year.  He weighed in at 248  Monday he was 202 and just 5 days later he's at 194.  We have returned to cycle 1 on Monday and it's working again.  I started in Jan at 198, Monday I was 169 and today I'm 164. Hi All today's day 17 of cycle one. my boyfriend and I are very excited about starting cycle 2 potatoes and eggs wooooooo hoooooooo  as of weigh in this morning he's lost 17 pds and I've lost 12.5.  and boy does it show.  the only bummer for me is that I don't change cloths sizes unless I drop 20-25 pds I where a 16 now and I'll never go below a 12.  just the way...

Hang in there! You both are doing great. The hard work will pay off. It is when we stop and go back to our old ways that we gain it all back.look at the progress you have made so far. This last month I have been loosing less than a pound a week, but no gain and looks like this week will be 2 to 4 pounds. Will know for sure Saturday morning. We all hate that stuck feeling but it will pass. Great job !

good morning blog:  cycle 2 day 9 - going very well with the food most times not eatig both carbs.  weight loss not so great.  Kevin's only lost 4 lbs and I've be going back and forth from 184 to 183 hoping to see a breakthrough soon.  but really enjoying the diet- feel good most days.  we exercise everyday now we are going to start exercising in the evenings too!!  I do 15 minutes (3200-3500) steps on the nustep, 30 minutes on random on the treadmill and 5 sets of 10 reps (30lbs) biceps and then triceps.  going to pass out flyers through the 6 apartment buildings.  hopefull it will reward me with a little weight loss I would love to go into cycle 3 at 179.  that would be awesome.  have a great day anyone that should read this and keep up the good work.

You will love this diet. You really can eat what is on it and not be hungry and you already have your exercise on target. It is great your boyfriend and you are doing it together. I think that makes is so much easier because you can encourage and support each other. What a great way of life you will be showing to your child and grandchildren.

hi blog it's now day 15 and I'm down 12.5, kevin's down 16.5  it's going very well.  superbowl was veggies and fat free onion dip, celery stuffed with breakstone lively active and paprika.  we did have the wine but now that will be on hold for a while.  I like to look at  our graphs.  they look great.  Kevin 247-16.5=230.5 goal 200 30.5 pds to go wow we have the same amount to lose lol.  well have a great day I'll write again soon. 

me: 198-12.5=185.5 goal is 155  30.5 pds to go

hi to me:  this is day 8 of cycle.  exercised as usual did all weekend make sure we do everyday we can with more snow on the way. stuck to the diet surperbly. although we did joke about having wings wine last night but I wouldn't buy them so unless he was going to be the bad guy it wasn't happening and it didn't.  and I'm glad.  I'm down 9 full pds now and he's down 11 full pds.  we still have a ways to go but feels and is looking great.  talk again tomorrow probably.  my niece may be joining the program tomorrow.

good morning it's day 5 cycle one.  kevin and I made it to the gym this morning.  I'm feeling great although like some although I don't feel it. I haven't moved my bowels in a few days. but inspite of that I did get on the scale and lose another 1.5 pds.  total:  start 198-191.5=6.5 not bad for 4 days complete.  boyfriend is down 10 pds which is awesome I continue to hope that the weight lose keeps him motivated.  If i can get him to cycle two he'll be happier.  some carbs.  although I'm not very hungry these days.  we start with egg white omelitte (sp) with mushrooms, roasted peppers, onion, broccoli along with green tea.  had the egg plant parm last night it was delicious with sauteed spinach with garlic, & brussell sprouts. wooooooo hooooooooooo!! well all have a great day and I'll write again probably monday.  although I will check in daily.
