Dr. Travis's Blue Scrubs
Blue Scrubs May Dr. Travis always wear them, and to his scrubs be true. Because if he changes his suit, we'll be the ones who are blue. Forgot about the fancy ties, and all the suits from GQ. He'll always be in fashion, as long as he wears the blue. We don't care if he's wrinkled, or his threads unravel too. He'll be our night in shining armor, when he wears his suit of blue.

Breast cancer risk 'virtually eradicated' by elevated vitamin D levels
Canada NewsWire 11-05-09, TORONTO, Nov. 4, 2009 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX) TITLE: Breast cancer risk 'virtually eradicated' by elevated vitamin D levels, researchers suggest."Breast cancer is a disease so directly related to vitamin D deficiency that a woman's risk of contracting the disease can be 'virtually eradicated' by elevating her vitamin D status to what vitamin D scientists consider to be natural blood levels. That's the message vitamin D pioneer Dr. Cedric Garland delivered in...

Sinus Infection
Last week I came down with a viral throat infection which about five days ago turned into a bacterial sinus infection. I am 24 weeks pregnant and until this row of infections, everything was going perfectly fine. Now my doctor has put me on 10-days of Amoxicillin (1 pill 3x per day) and Nasonex (1 spray in each nostril 2x per day). Is this all safe? I've read that Amoxicillin is safe during pregnancy. I...

Healthy Eating
Three months ago I cut all redmeat out of my diet. It wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be. The majority of my dinner time meals are salmon. I love salmon but I'm running out of new ways to make it. So I thought maybe if I shared one of my favorite ways to make salmon that I could convince you guys to share one of your favorite healthy recipes with me....

H1N1
My son is 11 months and I am breastfeeding. I plan to continue until he either wean himself or until the Swine Flu thing calms down. I'm just beginning to become nervous about him getting the shot. There is all this talk about the effects it may or may not have. I'm just curious to see if any one else has any thoughts about the subject ??

Waiter's Confession
Oh man, I’m not so sure I want to see today’s segment on waiter's confessions. :) Chances are I'll be cooking today. Actually, I've never been a huge fan of the fast food places. Although bad things can happen at any restaurant. My mind is more at ease if I can watch the food being prepared. I also like deli's. One of my favorites Subway. Of course I have to trust the meats and condiment...

Mercury in dental fillings
We all know that our fillings contain mercury and mercury is toxic to our health but is it safer to leave them in than have them all removed because of the leakage of mercury into our body when removed? Or is the continued vapor leakage more harmful over the long term if we left them in? I had all mine removed and my health and energy level has improved although there is no "scientific proof". Make sure you...

We treat our Military like.....
I was just reading a gentleman on this web site "about me" page. He went through agent orange, and has a long list of medical problems, that are not being resolved. Why doesn't the V.A. help more? He is depressed, as anyone who is in constant pain. This seems to be a recurring theme, vets being cast aside. Putting all Politics aside, don't our vets deserve more? Is this how it really is? The Doctors T.V. did cover...

Going off Klonopin
I'm in the process of going off Klonopin fast so I am not so sedated during the day. I can't go off it cold turkey because I risk seizures. My psych knows, just I'm going a little faster than he thinks (going from 2 to 1 mg, not 2 to 1.5 mg -- trust me 1/2 mg makes a huge difference). I can already tell my mood has changed but it hasn't been long--has taken...
