Soldiers Wife
Some people may take this the wrong I apologize before hand. It bothers me when I hear military wives say they are single moms. Honey I'm sorry but a single mother is responsible for not only taking care of her child but also provide the income. My husband my be gone a lot but I haven't ever considered myself a single parent. I feel it is a insult to my husband who works hard to...

Gained, but back on track
Well, the Easter Week-end was not so good for me. I helped my sister-in-law renovate her restaurant all week-end and of course she fed us. This was very nice of her to do so but of course there were not a lot of good choices for me. I gained 3 lbs. on the week-end but I have gotten back on track again. I lost 2 of those lbs. yesterday and am rooting for the other to...

Greetings fellow Canadians! I am back. This proves to me how it is most certainly effective and works. Well, I am back to Cycle 1 once again and feeling fantastic and full of energy! Please visit...

Fluorescein Angiography
Anyone have this done? I'm getting a referral from my eye surgeon to have this procedure after he's been monitoring my eyes for years. Because I've been diabetic for 40 of my 43 years there has now been what he thinks is leakage in my right eye. I'm thinking this is just a prevenative measure but he did say that if there is leakage, he will have to perform laser eye surgery to fix it. ...

It has been a rough week. I work at Washington Dept of Corrections and we went through a horrible loss. A loss that no one wants to imagine but one that we also know can happen. I can not begin to think of what the family of Officer Biendl can be going through. every year I think that when I have to go through defensive tactics I will be ready next year, but year after...

Mandatory Flu Shots
Well if a healthcare professional did not take the flu shot I would not be upset, because after sitting in the waiting room for the doctor, I was more afraid of catching the flu from the patients then the healthcare professional because MOST healthcare professionals at least wash there hands, use antibacterial gels, & or gloves. I do not fear the professionals but the patients in the waiting area. Also, individuals are always...

First Week down, tick!
Day one of my second week. Still tentative and not as confident as I want to be, but that will come. Went out to a party last night and was terrified that I would eat all the appetizers on the platters and perhaps even the platters themselves... but I was FINE! I had some grilled shrimp and then ate bits of tossed salad decorating the platters, then for dinner I chose a greek salad with...

Going around again
Hello, SDD, it's back to the beginning for me. I've been sitting around spreading in every direction and it is time to get back to some healthy eating and activities. Think I have been on a depression spiral since the loss of my brother. It manifested itself in my being alone a lot and foresaking my routines. I've knitted quite a bit, but little else. After attending a class reunion and seeing pictures of me...
Are there any SDD out there from the beginning of this site?

Burning Calories
Well, I have stuck to my diet, so far. No sodas, sweets or carbs, for 2 weeks. I have also been drinking more water throughout the day. Saturday we went to a birthday party. There was pizza, cake and ice cream!! I resisted...I was so proud of myself! Luckily there was a veggie tray and dip, so that is what I ate, and I drank 2 bottles of water, while I was there. I worked...

Biggest Loser
I tried to post this last week...but I guess I did something wrong. So, I will try again. I am participating in the Biggest Loser with some of my coworkers. We had our first weigh on Monday, January 3rd. We each paid $10.00 into the pot. We are to weigh every Tuesday after school. If we lose weight we celebrate eachothers accomplishment. If we gain weight, however, we have to pay $1.00 into the pot....

We went to a warehouse sale and the clothers were so cheap it was fantastic and everything that I tried on looked good. I spent just over 100 dollars and I got 5 full outfits. Love the new clothes since I hardly ever buy anything new cause I am usually dissappointed when I try things on and they don't...
