About Me

I'm artistic, a creative writer, liberal in politics, and before retirement worked as a policy analyst for the Michigan legislature (social services budget).  Bachelors in English and Studies in Religion, and Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan.  In 1982/83, while working full-time, I founded an emergency shelter for homeless families (organized the volunteer effort).  Hired the first director who retired a couple of years ago.

People first notice my ever-ready smile and optimistic attitude, despite the dismal economy.  Politically active and out of a sense of concern for humanity, I am actively in volved with many charitable causes and also sustainability of our planet.

Never learned to smoke and I don't drink except on rare occasions.  In my retirement, I'm involved in the church choir, an active watercolor and encaustic painting artist, member and host of a writer's group meeting weekly, love to read, and work out at the YMCA 4x a week.  Grandmother to 7.
