Do you watch "Little People Big World"?  Matt Rolloff also has sleep apnea and diabeates and , and  and,...poor guy.  My husbands says I stop breathing too when I am sleeping. But I won't die until my time is up. Dieing is just stepping from this life into the next anyway. And the next life is going to be even better than this one because Jesus The Christ is my personal Saviour. I met him in 1973 after my mother died. He has never left me. You can always count on him.

If you can stand to sleep with an oxegon mask on then that will help you with the sleep apnea. I can't and even if I could, I have no insurance.

Hi, I too have Sleep Apnea along with other health problems (Lichen Sclerosis,a seizure disorder just to name a couple.) My husband has Sleep Apnea as well so we have a C-PAP on each side of the headboard. Yes they take some getting use to but once you get somewhat use to them boy they can sure help you wake up a lot less groggy and tired feeling. I know many people who don't take the time to get use to the machine and give up on it but it's a lot more than just getting a good nights sleep. You can also prevent heart damage by using it and some times you can get off the machine permanently if you are over weight and you lose the weight . It's kind of ironic that my husband works for a company that sells and rents these machine out . Your not alone my two brothers use these one is quite a bit over weight and one is nice and trim. My father-in-law uses one as well. I will admit it took couple of days to get used to and trying a couple of differant types of head gear till I found one that I liked. You not alone .

Sleep Apnea won't just kill you, it takes away your quality of life, it can lead to weight gain, high blood pressure, diabetes, heart problems, stroke, fatigue, memory problems, mood disorders, inflammation (and the pain that comes with it)Liver disease, etc, etc.  It's not about cheating death, I too have Sleep Apnea, when I got my CPAP, I lost 30 pounds, I got to stop taking my blood pressure medications (which saved a lot of money) I had more energy, better memory, etc.  I can now use my better life and the money I have saved on prescriptions to serve Jesus, to help others, and to be there for my friends and loved ones.  Last year I lost 60 pounds, I had a sleep study in August that showed no sleep apnea now.  As I get older, or if I put on weight I will have to use my CPAP again it's something I will have to watch closely.  I believe as Christians we should do everything we can to take care of ourselves to best be used by God, whether that is eating right, or sleeping well to stay healthy.  I believe God knows when I will die, but that doesn't mean I should neglect taking care of myself, or start playing in traffic, the Bible says our bodies are our temples.  Just a though. :0)

i have sleep apnea and a cpat machine, some nights i fall asleep without thinking (forgetfulness) and forget to put my machine one right next to my bed, i wake up in the middle of the night with a headache and foggyness, then during the day, i am dragging and can't keep my eyes open, it is hard getting used to it but we really do need it, it does make you feel so much better, i am gonna try to be more faithful to it so that i can start losing weight, loosen it up at first as you learn to get used to it.

Hi, I saw your posting in the archives.  One of the worst symptoms that I had while vitamin D deficient for over 3 yeas was a terrible time sleeping and sleep apnea.  After getting correctly treated over the last 6 months for a vitamin D deficiency, I no longer have trouble sleeping.  I would recommend getting your vitamin D blood level checked. Read my profile, especially the section on "tips to take to your doctor" so you know you get the correct treatment if you are indeed vitamin D deficient.  Please let me know if you have any questions.
