Cancerfree, maybe you are losing inches, not pounds…..you might be getting thinner than you think, it just doesnt show as a number on a scale….it might show in clothes though.

USMCEODwife…for yogurt I use Dannon lite and fit, but also Greek yogurt….the flavored kind but count it as a fruit and a probiotic.  Others by the plain greek yogurt and mix in a truvia and 2 Tbsp ie, polaner jelly (all natural jelly).  I havent tried it but is an example of something else others like.

USMCEDwife: I buy Dannon All Natural in the 32 oz size. I put garlic powder, salt and pepper on them. I looked up recipes in a search on Google and then picked the ones I liked. Living in MN as you do, I have to buy frozen brussel sprouts this time of year so that is what I looked up on the internet.

sassycheryl……do you make a dip with the yogurt by adding garlic powder, salt, and pepper?  And then use it for cut up veggies?  Just wondering, never heard that combo before.

Day 10 lost 10#. What a motivator to keep going. I am not a huge yogurt lover, but learning how to use it other than with fruit. I like creamy dressing on my salads, so I found a recipe with yogurt, mustard and lemon juice that makes a great dressing for my salads and dipping veggies in. It is also great for dipping artichokes in. Bye Bye butter! I find the Greek yogurt is better and was thrilled to find a low fat one.  I love how this diet forces you to think about finding better choices to replace the bad choices. Now only if I can find a replacement for the chocolate cravings. Not even fruit can replace that craving.

melissaw72: No, my reply was to the two questions that USMCEDwife asked. For a vegie dip, I buy Walden Farms no fat/no sugar/no calorie salad dressings. In my grocery store, they are located next to the salad dressings. I think in some stores they are in the dietetic aisle. I like the bacon ranch, russian, honey mustard and sweet onion.

Today is day 17 of cycle 1 & I have lost 7 lbs. which is pretty good for being menopausal! The weight just clings to me & holds on for dear life it seems. It was relatively easy eventhough I work for a Food company & we “eat” for everything. We have bagel meetings & pizza lunches not to mention celebrating every single birthday. I got thru it all without faltering. I also got thru the weekends which are the hardest for me. I am looking forward to hot cereal tomorrow in fact I have already made it so I can reheat in the morning. Looking forward to Cycle 2 & a little more variety.

Thank you for your encouraging words Sassycheryl!! I am eating everything-believe me! Haven’t ever cheated! I made it through a tough day and have to remember I wouldn’t be 11.5 down if it wasn’t for this book! I think I will wait a week before I weigh myself again. That way I will feel even better becuase I probably will be down 2 more lbs. It’s not supposed to be easy getting weight off but I have to say…this is like dieting for dummies and it does work! It’s so great to be able to run to all of you for support!! You know exactly what I’m going through. I’m proud of all of us for sticking with it!! Just think how different we will look by summer!

Congratulations breannebens on getting started and on your 6 lbs lost. Keep yourself motivated and everything will work out for you. Keep checking these message boards I find them very motivating for myself. As you lose the weight you will be feeling better about yourself and you’ll realize those carbs are not in control, you are.

Well, I’m not pleased with the rate of weight loss. It is not fast at all. In fact I’ve lost more weight at a faster rate on my own. BUT, the way I was doing that was not by eating a well balanced diet. So, I am happy that I’ve stuck with this in spite of the slow pace of weight loss because I KNOW I am becoming healthier. Those darn scales just keep going up and down!! I’m NOT giving up. At the very least I will reset my body so that it doesn’t crave sweets and salt.

tomorrow will be day 17. i initially weighed myself on day 3, and had lost 3lbs, then weighed again on day 5 and went up one….so i have stayed away from the scale. (i know from past experience that it would make me crazy and more apt to give up/cheat if the numbers went up). but i can tell i’ve lost something! my pants fit much more comfortably! plus i’ve noticed a visible change in my belly. i’m amazed, and grateful, that i’ve done as well as i have! i did slip up 3 or 4 times, but jumped right back on again. i FEEL lighter, firmer, more in touch with myself from the inside out, if that makes any sense! i am really look forward to starting the next 17 days! i also wanted to share a link that helps me with my cravings: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDABIwR99qg (if it doesn’t set up as a link, copy and paste into your browser). it is an accupressure technique that helps neutralize the emotional charge food has for many of us. just follow along and see if it helps! i will post again after i weigh in!

I have been on Cycle 1 for 14 days and have lost 10 lbs. the weight came off very fast the first 10 days and I have been at a stand still the last 4 days. I have not done anything different,

aut121…….You might be at a plateau (?)….10 pounds in 14 days is still great!  I know it must be frustrating but keep hanging in there!

hey there…i am on day 8 and down 8…woohoo…my boyfriend is down 5 in 8 but he doesn’t have as much to lose as i do…

still feeling lightheaded but i will take that over what i just found out about my cousin…she is thin to begin with and was taken to the hospital and has low blood pressure and low sugar count…she is way underweight.  her husband works a lot so she doesn’t eat when he isn’t there…so my aunt and uncle took her a box of donuts and told her to eat them…she is the opposite of my problem…

my aunt told me if i don’t stay on this diet she will come down and kick my butt…just like she is kicking my cousins…so i guess i better stay on this…

i am still on cycle one…but loving this diet…i even passed up all the junk food that was going on at work…we are training for the store and everyone is eating crap but i come in with my salad filled with chicken and eat that and everyone is amazed..even though they have already said this fat little body can’t do the job…

i have to prove them wrong and there are so many mirrors in this store it is crazy…

so congrats to everyone so far…everyone is doing fantastic…

Your numbers are exactly like mine!! aut121…I am currently n day 15 and the same is true with me!! 10 pounds and stand still for a few days. But, for me, I know in the past I can stablelize and not loose for a few days and hen BAM a few pounds. And,m I have to admit my body has neveer los this much weight this fast!!! I’m always glad if I can lose 10-15 pounds in a month…So, jst hang in there and do not loose touch with reality..I know snice we lost it so fast, it will be like this until all weight is lost!? I could dream, but truly wi be thrilled to loose all my weight(50 more lbs) by July!!!Keep up the good work, drink all that water, 3 meals, 2 snacks, green tea, and it WILL come off…

Bday_gift_medium lovelylinda 6 posts

i registered at 7 lbs in 17 days. not as amazing as some, but i have to remember that i did not exercise everyday, don’t like green tea, had my yogurt at night as a snack (best compromise for me with my sweet tooth), keep forgetting the warm water/lemon in the morning, and had the occasional ultra or red wine. i am absolutely stunned, however, that 7lbs feels SO different! i am also motivated to continue! 23lbs more to go does not seem impossible…and i plan to get there by my birthday on march 15!

hi, 7th day and down 9.6#. This is just unreal. I hope things keep going this way. I know I will go thru the plateau part of all this, but I am prepared for it. A slight change in eating habits on that part will help. Keep up the good work everyone!!!!
