Cincygal.  I have been on the diet about 8 months.  I started March 28th. I knew after the first week that i would really not cheat and I didnt until easter, i gave myself a pass on that day.  I didnt cheat again until 4th of July weekend, I had a wedding that weekend an anniversary party and of course the 4th.  I gave myself passes there too but regretted it, took me 3 weeks to get back to where I was before my cheat.  I now being so close to my goal weight have upped my workouts to almost daily.  I havent seen the scale move much now, maybe 1lb a week but thats better than nothing and im losing inches.  

I work in 2 restaurants so its a struggle daily with all the food around me.  I just want to be thin more than I want that food.

I really think you need to do a calorie count for a few days just to see how many calories you are eating.  I found I was eating 800 a day and thats not enough.  I know the book says no need to count but I think there is a need.  Your weight stale may be an easy fix, you may need to eat more!!!

I have tracked my calories today.  So far, I am only at 790 calories for the day after dinner. 

I made the Chicken Vegetable soup and divided it into 4 servings.  Each serving was 2 cups!  I don’t eat more than 1 cup at a sitting.  It was delicious, I just can’t eat that much.  I can’t believe that is all I have had.  My nutritionist said I should have 1000 cal/day and I was having a hard time with that.  Obviously, not now. I am not sure how to increase my calories.  I will try again tomorrow and see what happens.

So those of you who said I probably was not eating enough were right.  However, I ate (the wrong stuff, of course) Thanksgiving foods for two days until I felt so lousy and bloated I couldn’t do it anymore and didn’t want it.  So…increased my calories there, but no change on the scale.  After what I ate, that is probably a good thing :)

Cincygal, try adding more protein, what are you eating for breakfast?  I have 2 eggs every morning, thats about 150 calories right there.  Are you using your oils? thats another 110 calories.  Pick bigger pieces of fruit for more calories!

I am eating as much as I can.  I usually have a fruit for breakfast with eggs or yogurt.

I just finished C1. I did eat several things for Thanksgiving and the weekend after and gained a few pounds from that. But over all for the end of my C1 on Thurs. a week later i had lost 6.5 pounds for the entire cycle. So happy, happy dance. I have lost 67 pounds since starting the 17DD.

Beachlover, you will lose if you stick to the program.  I have lost 30 lbs, since MARCH 7 and kept it off (1 lb here or there, up and down) but stick to what it says, altho I never did the green tea or the lemon water)….eat your yogurt and 2 fruits before 2 pm.

Fancystitch, good for you… I did ok over Thanksgiving .. perhaps I only gained a lb or 2, but took them off right away, and we ate at buffets a couple fo times, I only ate protein and veggies and salad.. it worked..

Thank you both for your encouragement. C1D2 almost done! I think I will wait 1 week before weighing in so I don’t give up if I don’t see a big loss :)

It will work!!

I did round 1 in June/July and then kind of gave up for a while, then restarted C1 on 7th November. I was 184 in June, and am 162 now. I am planning on maintaining over the Xmas period and start back on C1 in January. I would love to lose another stone!! But not sure if thats realistic or not, but I am setting the goal anyway, if I fall short I will still be waaaay thinner than I was! I hope to be able to stick to the diet on some days over the holiday, and will have some treat meals or days such as today when it is my work Xmas meal – 3 courses!!

Yeah!  I started for the first time yesterday and did great.  It is hard not to eat off my daughter’s plate or share with her, but it is a habit I needed to break anyway.

Here is my dilemma:  Sunday we are having dinner at a friend’s house.  She is making spaghetti and meatballs.  I figure i can make a salad to bring, but do you think I should just cheat and have a meatball (probably ground beef) and no noodles.  I know the sauce will be plan friendly.  If I don’t eat a meatball, what can you think of for other options?

Personally, I wouldn;t cheat at all, the reason I say this is that if I do cheat, I absolutely cannot stop. One thing leads to another!

I would take your own meal – salad and some grilled chicken or something and stick to the plan. What I did was have a ‘cheat’ meal one I got to the end of C1, then went straight onto C2. It was my reward for not cheating.

Or, you could make some turkey burgers to have with your salad. I make mine with coarse turkey mince (the finely monced stuff doesn;t seem to work as well) sliced sping onions, finely chopped garlic, finely chopped stem ginger, some soy sauce and an egg to help bind the mixture. These go really well with a nice salad, or mabne you could even make some turkey meatballs and have with the sauce?

I would not cheat!  If you are going to take a salad, make it a taco salad with ground turkey or cook a chicken breast and top your salad with that.  You will feel better knowing that you didn’t cheat!!

I am on c1d3 and am down 3 lbs so far! I just wanted to share that as a young and extremely active person I am overweight only because I can eat like a man and then some. So my first day on the diet I had 1150 calories and that was not enough. The second day I had 1250 and I still woke up the third day with faintness and no energy. I had to ramp my calories up to about 1500 in order to have some energy and be able to follow after my kids! I also made this amazing turkey chili that I wanted to share, its totally plan-friendly and easy to take scoops from the fridge! Mermaid, I wouldnt cheat either, once you start its hard to stop, I had been really good on the diet (lost 50lbs so far) but once I started little cheats its hard to give them up.  I am sure your friend would understand you bringing your own food.

I have been on this for a week and lost 7 pounds!  I am not hungry nor craving sugar….this is awesome…30 more to go.  Also am feeling so much better already.
