I think the doctors figure that they might as well weigh you with your clothes on as you carry that weight all day on your body. If you typically dress in heavey fabrics then your body is dragging that weight around. Some docotors have you leave your shoes on too. Again, if you choose to wear heavey clunky shoes your body has to handle carrying that weight around all day.

Day 11, Cycle 1, down 7 pounds! A little disappointed it’s not going off as fast as some of you, but then I am sure I don’t exercise as much as you, either! Have some leg/ankle problems that slow me down but laziness is the main reason. Just HAVE to change that! Today is another day to do that!! Congrats on everyone else’s progress and determination!

dansan20002………I dont get enough sleep either, unless sleeping at intervals in the day counts. When you get really run down IMO, you should eat not on a diet because your body might be craving certain nutrients, which might help your body recover faster. And if you cheat, you cheat….I’ve learned that; takes me about 1-2 days to get back on track. I usually exercise a lot but because of the weather I havent been able to. That part bothers me!!!

Day 13 and the turkey, chicken, eggs protein is starting to get old. My daughter, a nutritionist, says turkey, chicken and yogurt are binding so advised me not to eat them every day. Mmmmm why didn’t the Doctors, or Dr. Mike mention that? Any suggestions for alternate protein during the first cycle?

I am on Day 20 and I got rid of 13lbs while my son is on Day 9 and he is down by 15lbs. I am now 175lbs and need to be a max of 150lbs. The great news is I am down by 6.5 ins. I now need to get my buns in gear and work out more often. Starting today I pledge,to myself, that I will be working out at 5 days a week.

This Day 7 fir me, this morning I lost 5 # so far. My husband won’t tell me if he has lost anything, he says he won’t way until the end of the 17 days. I have never seen him have to pee so much. It really is funny, I’m the one who has to stop all the time. It’s a good thing we have more than 1 bathroom

@Smart1, I did not experience the binding issue because I drink a lot of water. As for the turkey chicken, you can have some tilapia (I am not a fish person but with lots of lemon and pepper and cooking tilapia in the broiler it was ok) also I made the spinach frittata with egg whites, onions, bell peppers, and tomatoes. Whisk the egg whites and sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste, cut up the veggies, heat your frying pan/skillet and spray with olive oil then pour the egg whites into the pan and continue to whisk. Add the veggies still whisking then turn down the stove so that the eggs can cook. Once they cook, use a spatula and ease the sides, sprinkle a teaspoon of parmesan on top and there you have a healthy (choose what you want to call it) pizza or quiche for dinner

Smart1…your daughter ahs an excellent point…no wonder a lot of us are feeling constipated; those meats all are binding. No idea for alternate protein for the first cycle—-I’ll be looking forward to answers from this question too!
bharris….you are doing great! I think you’ve lost the most weigh so far tha I have read about…someone may have lost more but I haven’t seen it documented.
Stuntchik..kep up that rate and you are golden in no time!

Haven’t posted for a few days and it’s reassuring to know that EVERYONE is having the same successes and failures as I am. I’ve really stuck to the food and
exercise restrictions but………………………I seem to have wine. I had half a glass on Wednesday and another half glass on Friday but then I was watching the Steelers game yesterday and was alternately so excited and so depressed that I ended up having three glasses of wine!!!!!!! Yikes!!!!! At least the Steelers won. Worried about
my weigh-in tomorrow, however.

I cheated today. My husband grilled hot wings today for the Seahawks game and I ate two of the drumsticks. I only had 2. I had already told myself I could have 2. And I stuck with it. I’ll be doing a little extra on the treadmill tonight. And drinking some extra water to get the sodium out of my system. After I ate them… I paid! My tummy has been twisting ever since. I think thats going to be a problem for me when I start cycle 4 and I am able to treat myself on weekends.

debiruns and amberleighe….this happened to me too—not with wine, but with food also. Congratulations for holding back on all the other food at the football game (I am assuming) you were at though! I slipped up and ate a bagel and 4 reese’s cups the other night. Doesnt seem like a lot but when you are arent used eating carbs anymore, your body just doesnt know what to do with it all. I’d say Start where you left off and in 1-2 days things will be OK. It took my body 2 days to "recover’ from eating all that. Hope this helps.

Today is day 16. I’ve lost 7 of the 27 pounds I wanted to lose. I’m pretty excited about it. I know it’s not the most weight loss recorded for a 16 day period according to other people’s entries but I’m okay with that. I have managed to find ways of going to restaurants and and kids sporting events without cheating. I take along a teabag and my own dressing. I take fruit whenever I leave before lunchtime just in case I don’t get back as soon as I expected and I need a snack. I’m looking forward to Cycle #2 although I have to say I have enjoyed Cycle #1 and look forward to many of the meals I haven’t even tried yet. Good luck to everyone.

Week 1 down 15 pounds, just 130 more to go!!

This is the end of Day 10 for me. I’ve lost 5 1/2 pounds. It’s not coming off as fast as some of you, but I am taking what I can get and celebrating every pound lost! I have been following the plan daily making up my own meals, feel more healthy, have tons of energy and feel good about myself. I’m going to reach my goal of losing 30-40 pounds.
I’ve been going to the gym 5 days a week alternating between the treadmill and elliptical and then using the free weights for strength. Got a racquetball racket for Christmas. Used it for the first time today with my daughter. Played for half an hour. What a workout!! Don’t know what I’m doing but as long as I’m working up a sweat. We’re hoping to play every weekend. Am planning to start back on my Wii Active tomorrow.
Read above about the chicken, turkey and yogurt. No wonder a lot of us are feeling constipated. In my first week I definitely had a problem. Still would be except I’m taking my Fiber Choice chewables. Thank God for those!! Will be glad when whole grains and cereals are allowed.
Don’t know about the rest of you, but since I started this diet, I’m feeling more motivated than ever. Seems like the more I do, the more I want to do. Love this feeling. That sneaky little doctor. I bet he knew that if we started with just 17 minutes a day, we would get to feeling so good that we would add more.
Congratulations to everyone on your progress. Keep up the good work. You will reach your goals.

After losing 8.2 pounds in week one, the 1 pound I just found out that I lost in week two would have been extremely disiappointing had I not read everyone else’s posts. Losing 9.2 pounds in two weeks is still incredible—I’ve never come close to that before. Melissa—thanks for the encouraging words. I agree with you—if you screw up just get back on track and keep on going. We’re none of us perfect! I’m on day 15 of Cycle 1 and, like Bikini By and Cluehunter, I’m looking forward to Cycle 2. I never thought things like oatmeal would sound so attractive! I’m with the rest of you—getting back to my normal bathroom routine will be fabulous!!!!! Everyone keep on truckin’ (I fear I’m showing my age here……………………). Debi
