HEY EVERYONE !!…….. I"m GONNA USE CAPS LOCK ON THIS ONE. I JUST LOOKED AT MY NOTECARD AND WE ARE 15 STRONG NOW… sfeiner….COMamma . We are all struggling in different ways. I have found it really helps divert my food urge by posting at different times of the day. Also make SURE you are getting plenty of WATER. I have also started to eat apples for snacks during the day. I am one that would get up and not eat breakfast and then i’m not hungry untill 4ish in the afternoon. I would eat literally ANYTHING in site at that time…So there I am, starved during the day with my body saying store fat and then killing myself by binging on anything… NO MORE, NO MORE.. What are you habits OLD FARTS, SFEINER, lets start telling ourselves we are 70 years young……. tell us about your life ..Can you walk ?? Can you swim?? HEY COMamma, if your hungry, EAT ! just go to the allowed foods, We’re ALL going to make it.. Keep the posting up to give everyone support…. I’m turning in now so GOOD NITE to ALL…My Mama used to say (NIGHTY POO DON’T POO IN YOUR NIGHTY) SHE DIDN’T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT PASSING GAS AND IT BEING LIQUID HA,HA I sure hope we don’t have really bad prudes on our site. After 50 bodily stuff is almost all we have for humor… Tell everyone some funny stories about yourself…… good night, Linda

Thank you for your encouraging words. I actually logged on just as one of my cravings was kicking in so I’’ll head to the frig where I have already cut apples in a bag. If that doesn’t totally fix it, I’ll go for low fat yogurt before I turn in – oh yes and water. Keep on encouraging each other.

I just learned about this 2 days ago and need to lose weight so bad for my health and self worth. I think I have tried every diet in existance and am heavier than ever. Me and my husband are both out of work and times are very tough. Is it necessary for me to order the book? For those of you who have it, can you tell me if it is something I can do without? Also, I’m concerned that I won’t be able to afford the foods that are required. Any advice from those of you who have started it?

Hi, all. Started the 17 day diet 6 days ago…lost 7 pounds so far. I am 57, so fit into the old farts site pretty well. However, when we’re all feeling sorry for ourselves…I have to tell you about the lady that lives with me. She is 80 years old, had two hip replacements about 6 years ago, still rides her horse in 25 mile endurance rides with me. She has put on about 20 pounds in the last few year, mostly around her middle. SHE is doing this diet right along with all of us, walking on the treadmill for the 17 minutes, plus she walks about 15 mins morning and night when she feeds the livestock here. Everytime I feel like whining, I look at her…and think, suck it up. If she can do it, we all can!! Her motto is “Cowboy up, let’s ride!”

Hi, Well I have to tell you that I am getting a little discouraged. This is my sixth day on the diet and I have stayed the same for the last three days. I have lost four pounds but was hoping to lose at least something everyday. I have stuck with the diet almost to the letter. I will give it the 17days and then not sure if I will stick to it or not. Depends on the results I get. When I check back in I hope I have better news. Good luck to all of you.

Ginhess, sounds like you need some encouragement. Is there anything else you are doing that results in 4 lbs lost in 7 days? I would try not to weight each day because it appears to get you discouranged. I have a chart on my wall that has a place to register weight each Friday for 12 weeks even tho this will be done in 17 day increments…… you might want to try once a week instead of daily. Don’t give up, you can do it. I know it will be worth it in the long run and am focusing on keeping strong and positive. Are you getting the chance to exercise or get out and walk? You can do it…… oh yah and Cowboy up, Let’s Ride….

Evidently this is my site 61 and have tried every diet and have lost and gained enough weight over the years to fill a room—a large room with the lbs…..Started Monday and watched both Dr. Phil and the Drs show with the start of the died. Are they going to check in with their teams each week on any special day?

I bought a scale last night. It has been years since I stepped on any scale except at the doctor’s office. Today I plan to go online and order the book. I’m counting on your support in order to put one foot in front of the other….

Nurse 67 – This is one plan that will work because it is a life style change! It sounds like it incorporates steps similar to the Dr. Phil Ulitimate Weight Loss Solution. I cannot wait to get the book. IT should arrive any day. I did loose weight using the Dr. Phil plan, while having a make over for the Dr. Phil show about 3 years ago. It worked as well because of the fact it empasized a life style change… I kept the weight off until I became ill and my hormones went wacky, the summer 2009.(Epstein Bare & possible pituitary gland virus) Unfortunately I gained the weight back… I am finally feeling better and look forward loosing all of the weight again and fitting into my jeans! The key is to be consistant with what you eat and exercise. The latter is something I neglected while ill… I am 56 and want to live a healthy life so I must get back into the swing of things and exercise regularly! This site seems really good for support! Very encouraging!

Ginhess – I agree with CO Mama ! Don’t weight yourself daily. Keep working on it and have the mind set that it will work! Are you exercising regularly? That is a key too… We can watch what we eat but need to get moving! I get into the habit of just using the treadmill. I have read that muscle confusion is important for exercising. You need to work different muscles groups daily…. Wish I could have a gym membership once again. Community centers often hold classes that are reasonable… Something to check out…

barbmcgann – Love your encouraging post about the lady that is living with you! A great motto too – “Cowboy up, let’s ride!” Great to have such encouragment in your home! I really miss horses…I lived in Canada for 10 years – was a wrangler at kids camps, had my own horse..When I was a university student I rode across country to get my horse to where I was going to board him for the winter. Really miss riding but am so allergic to horses now plus I live in the city… :(

Hello everyone. I am also from Nova Scotia! I just joined the site and have ordered the book but have not yet received it. I have gained around 20-30 lbs. over the last 5-8 years. I am looking to loose a lot! Can you believe I used to have trouble keeping weight on? Good luck to everyone! I started excercising on my Gazelle today and have thrown out all the sweets and junk food.

Hi Conniejean, welcome aboard :) You can drink your green tea at anytime. Just tried the taco salad and enjoyed it.
It does not matter what diet you are on, water is a big big key to flushing out the fat. I am always out, so I took an apple and bottle of water with me, any sugestions out there for something else I can take with me when I’m out? thanks good luck eveyone
