Hey everyone…..Gaggy is at a standstill, but weather is warming up and I’m gonna hit the pavement. Hi Ellie, welcome. There are some great gals here and I guarantee you will not think of us as Old Farts.. Tell us about yourself and take the time to go back and read about the other girls. A lot of different backgrounds and life experiences make up a real good group !! The weekend is here and I am soooooo sick of the flu bug and it’s side effects.. Everyone have a great Sunday and I’ll catch up with ya next week.. Love to all,  Gaggy

thanks Nurse67 had a good day today – stuck to it all day – I’m craving a little tonight but putting stevia in my green tea helps. I need to go grab some water too. 4 lbs in 4 days taint bad!

Bjack…could it be your thyroid? Or sometimes if you have less to lose you won’t lose as fast. I have seen lots of ppl on here discouraged and then something kicks in and it starts dropping. Good luck to you, don’t give up!

Today was my weigh-in and i’m down a total of 25 since January 12. I’m staying on cycle 2 and modifying it a bit, 2 times a week I’m doing cycle 3. I still have about 65 lbs to lose so i’m not ready to add in the ‘daily bread’ portion yet! I’m not missing the bread so much even though I am a bread FIEND! The hardest thing for me seems to be the crunchy chips and chocolate. I did reward myself yesterday with a little frozen yogurt from our new frozen yogurt shop – it was really good!

Momma Sue – I weighted just 1.5 pounds more than you when I started! The goal to loose weight for me was about my pants being far too tight and not wanting to purchase a third set!!! Having Epstein Barr 1 1/2 years ago resulted in the weight gain. The pounds were creeping up… When we are over 50 it is just so tough to get off. I really like having loose pants. I still don’t think I could zip up my old pants but I am not getting rid of them yet….

Hormonal issues or imbalance can also cause difficulties in weight loss… REad Dr. Lee’s Book, “What Doctor’s Don’t Tell you about Menopause.”

You can find a doctor that does natural hormonal treatment on the following web site –
http://www.worldhealth.net/pages/directory/
This site explains what anti aging medicine really is – not skin treatments, ect…

Ginhess – Paso Finos are so beautiful! I love their gait!!! Would love to ride one someday. I owned three different horses, many years ago… They were Arab. Quarter Horse mix… Spunky! My hip is still sore…. :(

Weight in tomorrow… I have been staying the same so I hope there is a slight loss…

gaggy, hope you are totally rid of the flu bug…who needs that? take care!

And, susiecutie…way to go! 25 pounds is great! congratulations to you.

Hi, chipnie, and welcome. The cravings will disappear as soon as all the carbs and sugar get out of your system. Looks like you are off to a great start!

nurse67, I am hoping the same thing with the cholestrol. Are you on meds for it? I am.
My next blood test is mid March, so I guess I will find out then. Feeling better and more energy is a real bonus to this diet. On others, I always felt like I was dragging.

I am a little worried about this week…to many “eating out” events where I really can’t take my “stuff”!

ticked off today….went away to some friends house this weekend, Wed-Sun and I brought all my own food, so I only ate what I brought and sometimes I did not eat that, I tried to get my water in every day but some days it didn’t happen.  What bugs me is I was sooooo perfect and got on the scale this am and I was up a pound.  I can’t believe this, you have no idea what I went thru—we had a scrappbppking party Sat. 10 am to 10 pm and there was soo much food there, doughnuts, cookies, pies, cupcakes, casserols, and not one single thing was ok for me to eat……….I brought all my own food but the temptations were far beyond my expetations—-I felt overwhelmed at the sight of all the food, but I did not touch a bit of it, but it was in my face all around me, everyone eating.  I felt sorry for myself but kept saying I would see it on the scale but then I didn’t, I am so ticked off

Hi Everybody:
Haven’t been on in a few days and had minor out-patient surgery on my right foot this morning. Found out while I was there I had two pretty large outward spurs on the back of each heel and also on the bottom of each heel. I really haven’t had a lot of pain from them, but pain other places. So, I’m off my feet for a couple of days. Good news is, I’m now 28 days and down 12 pounds. I am thrilled with that. Mostly, I don’t crave any sweets, I don’t crave bread or butter or potatoes and I really, really, am into this plan. I have thought I can’t do this at times, but then I will get on here and read your posts and it gives me my energy back and my conviction to get this done. I just plain feel so much better. Coming to this site really helps me. To all of you who get discouraged, please check these posts and you will get your resolve to do this back. I promise. And go to the recipes so you can change things up a bit and get new ideas. That really helped me too, and they state what cycle they are for, plus you can make up your own. I love all you guys, we are an inspiration to each other. We can do this. Okay, numbing shots are wearing off, so I’m going to take a little something for it. It’s beginning to throb a little. No walking today or tomorrow. I’ll just do my sit down stuff. See you lighter.

Kricketbug-take care of your self. You are doing great. We all lose at our own weight. I have been stuck several times. But they eventually start moving again.

Gwoman—You proved my theory I alway sweared I could gain weight by looking at and smelling the food—you proved me right. All kidding aside you will drop. Maybe you didn’t get all your water in or less sleep and believe it or no that will make you gain weight. I still working on getting below 165 and not going up over that again. I will drop close or below it then pop back up several lbs. But then I’ve been eating sauerkraut as my proboitic—which is sodium city.

nurse67…I am shocked! LOL!

busymom, I LOVED looking at your daughter’s horse ranch. It is just beautiful & so peaceful looking. I rode horses through my 20’s…1st learned bareback, Western, then on to English saddle. After that, kids & other activities filled my time. I never owned a horse, just dreamed about it! Thank you for sharing!

I went to friends on sunday for gamenight. The host made chili (which is not on Cycle 1). I did eat some and some salad and antipasto but didn’t touch the cookies and the brownies. I thought I did pretty good but alas, I gained one pound today too. BUT what I know what there is to do is just jump back in….here’s me jumping! Come on!

Ginhess – Hi just looked at your daughter’s web site. What beautiful horses and gorgeous place. I looked at every single part of it. I first saw the Paso Fino at the Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky. Their gate is just awesome and they are so beautiful. I really enjoyed the trip to her place. Hope you are doing well and thanks for sending that. It was fun to visit.

ABUSYMOM & KRICKETBUG—-I am glad you enjoyed the website. I love going there and riding. The grey horse on the home page is their prize stallion. He is a National Champion multiple times. He is as sweet as he is beautiful. GWOMAN——If I didn’t have to lose the same pounds over and over again i would be down to my goal weight. LOL Don’t get discourged, I think most all of us gain a pound or two every now and then. I feel lucky to lose a pound a week!

well miracles never cease to happen———————I am down 2 pounds since my weight yesterday morning.  I got back to drinking the water yesterday, exercised and did all the same things I have been doing.  I was up 1 pound from my weekend away, did not go off the program once but did not exercise at all then and I know I did not get all my water in everyday but seems I am back on track now.  I hit the 20 pound this morning and I find it amazing that I have lost this much.

I made a boo boo on my prior post. I said I was down 12 pounds in 28 days. Actually it was 23 days and 12 pounds. I’m 6 days into Cycly 2 and loving just having a few more choices. It is getting easier and easier. My surgery on my foot is really sore today. I can’t even put on a sock it hurts. Had a rough night sleeping last night. Numbness wore off around 11:00 p.m and I don’t like to take pain meds so I didn’t sleep too good. The other foot is just a little store. I’m grounded. It should be better by tomorrow. You all keep up the good work.

Well, I weighed in this morning, it has been a week, i stayed the same didn’t lose, but i didn’t gain either, so i am pleased, day 7 , C3, maybe next tues. will give me progress.

I weighed in this morning and lost the lb I gained yesterday. Getting all the water in is my biggest challenge. I can drink the green tea ok and get plenty of that. Eating small snacks – just had a yogurt – helps me from eating the car in front of me on the way home! One minute at a time!

ginhess, I am sorry…I told busymom that I loved HER daughter’s horse ranch! I don’t know what got into me! Love, love, love the beautiful grey stallion. He is really something. They have an incredible place there. I apologize to busymom, too!

ginhess – loved the webisite- Such beautiful horses and an amazing ranch!!! What a dream location! MommaSue, I wish it was my daughters horse ranch! I too rode a lot in my 20’s. Wrangler… and owned my own horse… At one point I rode my horse from a small town where I managed a swimming pool for the summer, to an argricultural college… One of the instructors trailered my horse to his home which was near the camps I voluntered at! It was a two day ride across country… I was told to go toward the three hills & once in town I had directions to a farm that my horse & I stayed at. What a daring young gal. I woulnd’t let my kids do that in this day & age!

gwoman – It is probably water weight if you didn’t drink enough! Your body will store water…

kricketbug – I agree about getting encouragment and inspiration from everyone! Hope you recover quickly!!! Does not sound like fun!

I need to work on exercising more, drinking all that water & green tea… I am getting tired of the tea….

I have nerver been on a horse, so maybe some time this summer I’ll give it a try. It is still on the cool side here, but the sun is shinning and it is a beautiful day.

Icon_missing_medium abusymom 414 posts

Fancystitch – Definately start with Western! It is easier! I recal my sister-in-law said her dad felt so much better when he was on a horse. He had major back issues and could hardly walk when he was older. At one point he was a Canadian Reigning champion! He rode a lot and taught many, including me! I really miss horses but they are so expensive here in SO CAL. Plus my allergies are terrible now…. Aging frustrations!

So i really did loose track. I have finished cycle 3 and have lost a total of 13.5 pounds! I must read cycle 4… Think I will go back to Cycle 1 because I have anouther 8 pounds to go! Post your stats on the “Old Farts Weight stats” site for ease of keeping track!
