sroggy, my sons birthday was april 7, lost him nov 8 at the age of 18. i don’t know how i would deal with it if it were in the same month,(did make the holiday depressing) I havn’t been as depressed this year like in the past. I think the others on here are right, you need to find a support group or grief conselor. This may not help, but the grieving process takes time. I don’t know how many other children or grandchildren you have but they need their mother and grandmother. I had to focus on that, my other 2 sons needed me and now i have the grandchildren. I wanted more than anything to stay in bed and cover my head and never come out, but i had to force myself to go thru the daily routines and slowly over time i learned to live again. I have a new appreciation for the good things in life. Spending time with family, the laughter of a child, fresh fallen snow, the smell of freshly mowed grass, spring flowers, and rainbows in the spirng, and the goodness in people, and everybody on here. Until you are ready to move on you go ahead and cry, cry all you want. |

Sroggy I can’t begin to know your pain but like your other ‘sisters’ here, i’ll pray for your healing. |

Sroggy – I have had you on my mind and in my prayers all weekend. Now I see that Fancystitch has suffered a loss like you and my heart just hurts for both of you. I can’t even begin to understand your pain. I did talk with a friend of mine here and she said there is a group she believes called Compassionate Friends and she thinks they have chapters all over the country. It is a grief counseling group for those who have lost a child. She had a friend in another state whose daughter was murdered by an ex-boyfriend in the parking lot where she worked. She said they really helped her through some very difficult times. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know I was thinking of you and Fancystitch, my heart aches for you also. I love how you expressed about a new found appreciation for even the smallest of things. God Bless You Both. |

Thank you all for your prayers. Fancy I am so glad you are feeling better this year. Thanksgiving and Christmas were terrible but then I started to pick myself up and then Valentines day hit. Raquel loved all the holidays and she always made sure to make them special. I have had several days of just sobbing all day and it is exhausting, but I miss her soooo much she was my best friend. |

sroggy and fancystitch, thank you both for sharing your hurt & pain. It really puts life in perspective & how much we all take it for granted. Children & families are so precious. God bless you both. |

Great job, Susiecutie! You are well on your way! |

sroggy and fanctstitch my heart goes out to you both, I have never lost a child but I know it would be very hard to take I can’t even fathom it. So I will pray for you both pleae keep the faith. |

sroggy-Maybe you could do something in your daughters name. Or with animals since you are taking care of her dog. It is just so hard for parents to lose their children no matter what their age. Been thinking of you I’m sure everytime you start to feel up and then its the little things that remind us. Something they loved to do, a color they loved to wear, a song………try to remember the good times and that she is looking down on you and your angel and she would be sad to see you so unhappy……. |

Just wanted to say hi to all of you. I started C2 yesterday for my second time around. I still have 40 -45 lbs. to lose, how close is everybody else to their goal and after you do reach your goal are you still going to visit us here? |
I have 30 pounds yet to go but I am still losing on cycle 3 but very slowly. I just can’t motivate myself to go back to cycle one. I have lost 22 lbs since Jan. 3. At the rate i am going it looks like I will be coming to this site for a long time yet. I really enjoy coming here and reading the posts. I wish more of you would post more often. I do read it everyday even if I don’t post everyday. |

I have been on this since the 29th of December and I am closing in on 22 pounds also, I go back and forth between 1 and 2 as it is hard for me to get exercise in. I just recently returned from Hawaii and put on 6 pounds in 3 weeks but I have been home a little over 1 week and have already taken that off, yippie. Going thru some extreem stress situations and seems all I want to do is eat but have been holding myself off. I am so comfortable with the foods on C2 that I usually stay on that. |

Hi, Everyone, I read the posts daily and really enjoy hearing everybody’s reports and life stories. We are getting ready to be on the road for almost 2 months and I am freaking out a little about eating right, staying on target, and not gaining. We are driving to Calif from Ga to meet our new granddaughter who is due any minute now. Then, we head up the coast to Seattle to see family & friends…ending with a trip to Alaska for 11 days. We will head back home via Mount Rushmore, Jackson Hole, Yellowstone, Branson, and Nashville and should be home mid-June. I am really at my goal, but I would like to lose as much as I can before we leave because I know we will be eating, eating, eating and driving, driving, driving. We are in the 9th day of the 3 cycle for the second time. Cycle one is still my favorite, with no carbs tempting me. We are sticking to the program pretty much by the book, although we have had lots of dinners/luncheons to attend lately. Tomorrow is lunch and dinner out…I don’t like days like that, I try to order salads with chicken, but it gets a little old. I am taking clothes with no elastic waists, so the pounds will cause a big wardrobe problem. That’s my strategy anyway and I hope it works. I will have my computer with me, so I will be checking in with you every so often. scroggy, I hope you can make it to Minneapolis to the National Convention. I think that would be just great. I think about you everyday and keep you in my prayers. Please take care of yourself. gwoman, it’s encouraging to hear about your 6 pounds added & then removed in little over a week! I have already told my husband that I am taking the scales with me! I had my first class of Zumba today and it was a lot of fun and a great workout. Of course, I won’t get back to that until June, but I am looking forward to it. |

Good luck on your trip MommaSue I find when I travel I take a lot of carrot & celery sticks, baby cucumbers with no fat dip and fruit when I get hungry I chew on them and by the time supper comes along I am not that hungry. I have not been watching my weight the last two weeks, my daughter and greandson moved back home so I had to cook. They are moving out on the weekend and I will ger back on track. Just finished making 500 eggrolls so I think the smell made me gain weight. well talk to everyone later. Good luck everyone

MOMMASUE——Branson is in my neck of the woods. I live near Springfield Mo. We are just 45 minutes from Branson. I wish I was going to be here I would drive down to Branson and maybe we could of done lunch. I am going to be in Wisconsin from Memorial Day weekend until June 19th. My grandson graduates from high school on Memorial week-end and my daughter is getting married on June 18th. |

ginhess, oh shoot! That would have been a “ton of fun!” However, graduations and weddings can never compare! Congratulations on both and have a wonderful time. Any suggestions on shows in Branson that we shouldn’t miss? thanks, sharonpking. I live on carrot sticks and celery, too. I think they are great fiber and fillers, especially with the water. They really tone down my appetite. |
MOMMASUE—-We have been to a ton of shows but I think my favorites are the Dixie Stampede, Kirby Van Burke (magic show), and if your going to Silver Dollar City that is great fun also. You get a meal at Dixie Stampede which by the way is delicious so it makes it a great value. Todd Oliver has his own show now, we seen him on the Branson Belle and it was one of my favorites also. The Branson Belle is a lot of fun to, I don’t know who is performing there this year but I am sure it would be great and you get a good meal with that also. If you like Bible stories there is the Sight & Sound theater and the are showing “Noah the musical”. We seen it last year and it was very good. They use some live animals and animaltronics. This year they let you see backstage for free, when we went you had to pay for it. I don’t know how long you will be there but this should keep you busy for a few days!! LOL |
Ginhess, hope you find your motivation to go back to cycle 1, it is a little dificult, I lost 7 lbs. first time and 12 the second time on cycle 1. I did go thru all 3 cycles. Good luck! MommaSue looks like you will have such a wonderful time for your vacation and wow a new granddaughter, i bet you can’t wait. I like Golden Corral and Ryan’s once in awhile. I usually get the oven roasted chicken, steamed cabbage, steamed carrots, green beans, 1/2 a sweet potatoe, and salad. You may find this site useful, her name is Dottie and it is a resturant guide with all the food counts for hundreds of restuarants, www.dwlz.com She used to be on weight watchers and there is also a great reciepe section. Have enough fun for all of us and come back with lots of stories to tell. |
ginhess, sounds like you really have a good time where you live, i may have to take a vacation there sometime. |
Thank you both, ginhess and fancystitch for all the options! Ya’ll should be travel agents…lol. I will check out all of your suggestions and do some. I am not sure how long we will be there, but Branson has been on my bucket list for some time now. My husband thinks my bucket is bottomless! He’s right, I keep adding things to it. |
Fancystitch—-come on down!!!!!!!!!!! I even have two extra bedrooms for guests. We always buy season tickets to Silver Dollar City because we go quite often and after two visits a season ticket is more than paid for. Mommasue—-If you go to Silver Dollar City try not to go on Saturdays, it’s the busiest day, people shoulder to shoulder. |
Thank you ginhess, i just may do that some time, i know we would have a ball !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
It would be a blast to meet some of the girls on here. FANCYSTITCH—When your ready for a vacation just let me know and we would love to have you stay with us. Lots to do in Branson. We don’t have any family that live close by so we love to have company. My daughter came this morning to spend a week with me. I got her started on the 17-diet and she made it through the first day with ease. I even took her to the gym with me and we worked out for an hour and a half. She headed to bed early after the long drive here and working, she was pooped. |
