Master. I really try to enjoy & take in every minute with ANDERS!!  I think the best thing that came from getting the help from Dr Phil is that he knows that it is important to eat healthy and excersise.  He say’s “momma, can I walk on the treadmill?”  I put it on .05 & he walks a bit.  It’s so cute.  It’s right in the living room in front of tv & has not had one article of clothing set on it yet! :)

Hugs to you Scroggy! Sorry you’re having a rough time. I wish I could take you out for a nice long relaxing walk and you could vent. May I ask how your daughter passed?

Icon_missing_medium missycal 246 posts

scroggy we are bound to have those days, just start a new one tomorrow. Especially those days of just pure sadness, our hearts hurt so badly, and I say eat if you need to, there is none other like our pain.
I know we need to learn different ways to cope with it besides eating, but when you have lost a child it is just different and sometimes we just are sad and hurting..
Hoping for a better day tomorrow for you.
It is strange, I am 11 years ago that I lost my daughter and you know sometimes it just hits you like a ton of bricks, just the other day I was driving in the car, beautiful day out looked up at the clouds and just got this overwelming feeling inside and started crying, I miss my Katie. We will always have those days, they just get farther and farther apart. Take Care (((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))

I went on the scale this morning and lost two pounds, I was so excited, I have been going back and forth between 246, 247, 248, when I last weighed I was 247, so today I finally got to 245, now if I could just get to 243, just enough below 245 to be out of that area again, I will be so happy, I feel like I am back up and fighting. I sure hope I can lose this next week, suppose to start my period thursday so I am a little afraid that this week will be hard, but really going to get on the exercise and try.
Today was my grandsons 2nd birthday party, I had no cake, excpet one bite to taste it, they had bbq hamburgers and hotdogs, I just had the hamburger patti with tomatoes and pickles on it. I did have a little bitof potatoe salad and a diet coke. But over all I thought I did pretty darn good.
How did everyone eles weekend go.

Missy, Hugs to you too. I’m sorry about your loss. I know that there is nothing I can say to make it better. I wish you and your family all the comfort that words can bring. On another note, you should be proud of yourself. BABY STEPS! Having just one bite of cake is HUGE and you even passed up on the extra carbs in the bread. I say that if you are making small changes they will be the path to the ultimate change of a healthier lifestyle.

I had a cheat dinner tonight. I had the BBQ Chix breast that was in the book and an ear of corn and some oven baked potatoes. It is a cheat for me considering that I’m on cycle 1 but I am proud of myself because the family had ribs and beans and I didn’t eat those! Considering I do all the cooking for everyone else I am doing really well. In the past week they have had nachos, spaghetti and I have cooked it all and stayed on plan (except for tonight and the one ice cream cheat, lol).

Depending on my total weight loss at day 17 I may extend cycle 1 for a few extra days. Right now I am down 10 lbs on cycle day 15.

How much did you all loose on the first cycle?

1st week back on cycle one and down 4 lbs for total of 54! Yay! 36 to go…
Hope everyone has a good week…

Missycal—awesome way to go sticking to your guns at birthday party. sgroggy—hope you have a better day. Been missing getting on here. Mom had been at hospital and then at nursing home. At her house now until we get the room finished building on here and then she will have her own apartment on our house which will be easier than running to Covington, or Piqua every day at least once or twice……Going between 162- and 165.

Getnskinny – the first time around on Cycle one I lost a total of about 14.4 lbs. so i think your 10 lbs is really good! I have heard ppl say not to do cycle one longer than 17 days; I guess because of the nutritional aspect and that your body thinks that is your new habit and adapts to it and can actually work in more of a negative way. I don’t know though … it will be interesting to see what happens if you do decide to do it. Good luck to you – And NURSE, and SROGGY, AND MISSYCAL etc! Like Missy says, if you have a bad day (food-wise), just start over. I ‘cheat’ every Sunday and my mom likes to try to sabotage me, “Can you EAT THAT????” “Won’t that make you fat?” grr. I just tell her, “Mom, I’ve been doing this since January and have lost 54 lbs. I’m pretty happy with it just the way it is.” Maybe I could have lost more, but this way I am being healthy and still allowing myself to have some of the ‘bad’ stuff – just a reminder, that is exactly what most of the SKINNY ppl I know do!!! :)

Awesome Susie! Way to go!

Nice to “meet” you nurse67

Dsc02030_medium Getnskinny 30 posts

I agree Susie with the allowances of the other foods. If you deprive yourself you will feel deprived and then set yourself up for a binge. That’s what I do anyways! Then I eat a TON of junk I don’t need because I feel like I’ve failed.

As far as your mom saying, " Can you EAT THAT" I like to answer people this way, “I’m not ready to eat that”. I feel that it’s a much better mind set than saying to myself, “I can’t have that”. I can have it, just not yet, I’m not ready to add that food to my diet yet and I’m in control!

I am going to check out Good Life fitness today so I can make a commitment to get my exercise in. I hate trying to do it mid day after I’ve showered, etc. I think I need to get up and go around 5 am before everyone else is up. That way I make time without interuptions BEFORE my shower. I hate getting sweaty after I’ve dressed and put make up on.

Easterlilly_medium susiecutie44 153 posts

Getnskinny, i like your answer. I am that way about bread….totally not ready to allow myself sandwiches etc…..i love specialty breads, but they are expensive and then what do i do with it ’the morning after?"

I have started telling my mom, I CAN have basically whatever i want, i just usually choose not to and when i do, i don’t do it as much anymore! And i do not feel deprived at all. I think i have probably said (because i am a bit of a broken record LOL) usually when i do have a ‘treat’ it isn’t quite as good as i remember it. Then the next time it is easier to say no thank you.

I do my ‘workout’ at 4am! i walk/jog my three dogs, mainly because it is dark, no one sees me pre-shower, i don’t have leashes for all three dogs so 2 of them just follow me and the dog on leash and it’s in a really small town so there is literally no traffic that early to worry about the dogs being safe. I have found i won’t go to the gym at all after work and start working at home at 5am so i can’t go early. I also get a little walk in at lunch time, about a mile, and sometimes another at night. It’s such a matter of doing what works for you individually, i think.

Getnskinny, we lost her to colon cancer in April of 2010 she was diagnosed in March 2009 at age 30. We were told repeatedly that she would be fine by several doctors. Really hard to watch your daughter starve. I think that is partly why I have a hard time controlling my food. She was so thin to begin with and had nothing to go on. She was 5’9" at 117 pounds, very vibrant, active, sweet and loving, beautiful girl she did some modeling in her early 20’s, was a cosmetologist (she always did my hair since 1996) and loved to race her Trans Am. Her time was 12.8 seconds in the quarter mile. She belonged to 2 car clubs and had tons of friends.

Missycal I am so glad you are losing congrats to you and if you do have a small gain when you get your monthly you know that is normal and it will go away afterwards! I have gained back the 4 pounds I lost and have to start over. I have done really well at breakfast but sometimes I just blow the rest of the day when I am really sad, upset and bored.
Last night I roasted turkey breast but I also made mashed potatoes and had a small serving of them with gravy, just had to have some comfort food yesterday. this morning had some turkey breast, strawberries and cherries, will try to do better today. I am still trying to follow cycle 1 as I was off it for over a week with all the travelling we did.
Sasha and I went for a walk twice yesterday, but today it is drizzling again.

Susiecutie you are doing so great congratulations! Don’t let your mom or anyone else get you down, you just keep doing what is working so wonderful for you. I have been struggling since January and haven’t even lost 10 pounds total.

Thanks you guys:)
When I first started the I lost 12lbs on cycle one, course have been going back and forth.
YEA, susiecutie44, that is awesome.
Wow susiecutie44 4am, Yikes, I wish I could get up at 6am and go for a walk in the morning, but I just cant do it. I do get up at 6:30 to start my day, but not to exercise. But I do find that I have to get my exercise done in the morning, I usually like to do it before 10, since I babysit in my home that is the best time for me. Today have no kids and daughter wasnt feeling well so she stayed home, so I have a late start, it is 10:30 and I am still in my pjs just drinking my lemon water, about to eat breakfast, than my goal this week is to do richard simmons sweatn to the oldies for the 17 min, and the tredmill, switching every other day to see how that works, I really really want to lose 3lbs this week, a stretch for me but we will see.

sroggy, so sorry yoy are having a bad time of it, like missycal said, we will always have those days, but they do get farther and farther apart. It has been 20 years for me. Tomorrow is a new day, i hope it gets better for yoy soon.

Missycal, congrats on your goal of 245 and cheering you on for the next goal of 243.

Getnskinny, my first time on C1 i only lost 7, second time around on C1 i lost 14 and third time around i lost 7, i am on C2 for the third time around now.My second time around i had lost the 14 by day 12 and none until my third day into C2, so if you extend the time on a cycle you basically just stall out and don’t lose. So far i have lost 39.5 since jan 17 on 17DD. But I do have one of my favorite foods after i have finished 3 cycles and once in awhile after a 17 day cycle. So i probably would have lost more if i hadn’t had a treat here and there. But that’s o.k., i’m not in a race and this is a lifetime eating style and i feel great!!!!!!!!

Susiecutie, 4 am, wow, i gotta hand it to you, you go girl.

nurse67, are you at your goal? If not how much more would you like to lose, i wnt to lose 30 more lbs, and i would like to lose it by the holidays, wich i am sure i can.

Today was a good day, ate right and did my exercise. Going to go and have dinner in a few, salmon, salad and asparagus.
I might even go for a walk after dinner, I say that but than when after dinner comes I just dont have the energy. I need to get my dogs some new harness so that I can take them for a walk, the little who is just a pup is to squirlley with the collar. So I think when that happens it will good to take them out and it will help me walk.

If i lose more thats okay too. still walking 7 miles a least per day but tomorrow i am adding some weight training. i havent done that for a long time but i want to add some other things to my walking. Everyone keep up the good work

Congrats Willow! I feel the same about WHEN i reach my goal, then if i keep losing that is okay. I started physical therapy for my knee pain yesterday, and i think it is already working. Amazing what the body does and how it reacts to the pressure we put on it! I am excited about getting my old knees back in working order! :)

Scroggy, so sorry about your loss, your daughter sounds like a beautiful person. Hang in there and hugs to you!

SusieDANG GIRL 4 AM?!?! That’s some motivation! Can you send some my way. My hubby and I just had a conversation about me going to the gym. We have tea/quiet time every morning from about 6 to 6:45. After that he showers and leaves for work and I feed the kids and get them ready for school/day. So if I was going to go work out I would have to be at the gym at 5 am and be out by 6.  That seems REALLY early for me :oP. I stay up until 10 or 11 p.m. because that’s when I have ME time on the computer zoning out.  The other option is to go at night after dinner but then I take 1 hour of the few precious hours my husband and I spend together at night. Not sure I want to do that. We talked about buying an eliptical machine. Which is great to have at home but I still want to have access to a weight system. Of course going to the gym 3 days a week is much less strain then trying to go 6. Just have to find a routine that works well for everyone. Before when I lost my weight the first time, I ran about 3 miles a day in the morning. But DH didn’t have to leave for work until later so I didn’t go until about 6 a.m.

What about a little challenge ladies??

I say we each commit to getting at least 17 min of exercise at least two times in the next 7 days? Who wants to set a goal??  Let’s take small steps to big changes!!

Great job Willow! Must feel great to be at your goal. How tall are you? 118 seems really LIGHT :o).  How long does it take you to walk 7 miles?

Missy- Great job getting your exercise in and go get that new leash! :o) We need all the extra help we can get right?!

HAVE A SUPER DAY LADIES!
