I am on Day 5 of the Diet, first diet I have ever tried! When I started I weighed 188 and today down to 183, so pleased! But I am craving my carbs and if I eat another salad with fish/chicken and olive oil/ balsamic I will barf!!! So bored…tonight got a bit creative:-

kale chips-YUM!

Turkey patties – I mixed lean ground turkey with: – dill, parsley, chives, 1 egg, shredded zuchini and carrots, pepper, (I did add salt but I have very low BP), and hot sauce – made the patties and baked at 350 for 35-40 mins

And steamed veggies with a bit of oilve oil and spices

*IF anyone has a fun meal plan for tmrw that is a bit different, please feel free to suggest! So far I am thinking a stirfry with veggies and tofu for a change…but would love some new ideas!!!

Hi VanlsleGirl,  Glad that you like the kale chips.  The turkey patties sound great.  Sometimes after I brown the ground turkey, I add shredded cabbage.  I buy the large bags of shredded cabbage at Sam’s.  I either saute it separately in a pan with a little olive oil and salt & pepper, or add it directly to the browned turkey.  Sometimes, I add some garlic-rosemary seasoning to this and some other dishes.  It really adds a nice flavor, if you like that type of seasoning.  I even make the cabbage like this without turkey, and it’s really good – and I never even liked cabbage!  I’m currently on Day 12 of Cycle 1, and this is my third attempt on Cycle 1.  I’m doing a lot better now, because of keeping in touch with other people on this site.

Oh, I forgot to add that you might want to try my baked meringue recipe.  It’s not nearly as tasty as meringue made with real sugar, but it’s definitely lower in calories because this revised recipe uses stevia or splenda in place of the sugar.  Egg whites are about 16 calories each, so whipping up some egg whites and baking them sprinkled with fresh nutmeg or cinnamon or something like that is really a nice treat.

try a chocolate flourless cake, replace any sugar with agave nectar and use dark chocolate.  Also for a "home cookin’ " kinda feel try making a turkey meatloaf and cauliflower mashed “potatoes” I made them for my husband and he didnt know they were cauliflower until I told him.  Using lots of spices when you cook is key.  Dont limit yourself and be creative.  My hubby loves buffalo chicken meatballs with a cellery and carrot slaw and I make a “ranch” dressing using only plain greek yogurt.

I had this recipe tonight it was good.

I added celery and chopped mushrooms, and sweet italian turkey sausage to the egg mixture.  It was so good.  When I scooped out the mushroom it put cracks on the side of the mushrooms so the egg mixture leaked out.  It was still good though.  It was so different from anything I have had.  I am on my last day of the first cycle.  I lost 9 lbs, my husband lost 17lbs as well as my daughter.  We love this diet.  It is hard to lower your carb intake in the beginning.  Make sure you get your two fruits.  That helps with the cravings.  After a week on this the cravings start to subside.  You are almost there.  Hang in there.  You can do this.

Try my chicken parmesan on “noodles” it was delicious. The stir fry is good too. I really like the spahetti squash, pretty much flavorless and chruncy so you can use it a lot of different ways. see posts. thanks!
