Brocolli Slaw Salad - Cycle 1

1 pkg broccoli slaw mix
1/4 cup or less of olive oil
2 pkg chicken ramen noodes (use the seasoning packet in dressing)
1/6 cup or less of  granulated sugar substitute
2 Tbsp rice wine vinegar
bunch green onions chopped

Mix broccoli slaw mix with onions. In a separate bowl combine the olive oil, seasoning packets, sugar substitute and vinegar. Stir together and pour onto the slaw mixture.

I don’t understand how this can by Cycle 1 if there are ramen noodles in it?

I think the OP is saying to use the seasoning packets, not the actual noodles.

The original recipe called for the ramen noodles to be added.  I only use the seasoning packets and throw the noodles away.  I altered the original reciped to fit into c1 and it is still declicious.

Thanks! I just began this diet yesterday and am trying to clean out my fridge and use all the acceptable foods that I have to make things that I can just have ready in the fridge. I made a “slaw” this morning with my leftover cabbage from the garden and carrots and I only put in vinegar and some oil and 1 packet of stevia. I figured I’d eat it as is, but I knew it was missing something. (mayo) :) I’m going to throw in a seasoning packet from the ramen noodles and see if that gives it a better taste. You guys are so helpful!!

I have a slightly different version of this yummy recipe.  Again, only use the seasoning packet from the ramen noodles.

1 pkg Broccoli Slaw (I like the Mann’s Broccoli Slaw)

1 pkg Oriental Flavor Ramen Noodles – ONLY USE THE SEASONING PACKET

4 Green Onions – sliced thin (green & white part)

1/4 cup water

2 Tbl Olive Oil

5 Packets of Sugar Substitute (Truvia works well)

1 – 1 1/2 Tbl of Balsamic Vinegar

Combine everything BUT the Broccoli slaw and mix well.  Pour over the Broccoli Slaw and combine thoroughly.  Allow to rest in Frig for at least an hour.  If you’re on Cycle 3 you can add some toasted nuts to the Salad for some crunch.

Prunes are ok in Cycle 1, can we use raisins? I love raisind in my broccoli salad.
