I’m on Cycle 2, day 5. One of the snacks calls for 6 oz fruit flavored yogurt with one cup of berries. I used vanilla yogurt and added one cup of frozen berries. I put them in the blender. OMG it was like a frozen blueberry yogurt. You gotta try this one. I bet it would be good with any kind of frozen berry.

ummm…I ate a raspberry flavored fat free, sugar free yogurt and 1 cup frozen backberries and 1-2 packets of trivia. I totally agree with you cluehunter, This IS frozen yogurt! No need to go pay those high prices at the yogurt shop….

Califgal – I know right… I had another one the other day but made it with the Kefir. It was also good but not as good as the yogurt one. I assume you are from California based on you moniker. I too am a California girl. (Northern California actually)

WOW you are just down the road!!!! I’m in North Auburn…(Just before the Nevada County line, off highway 49)…Very SMALL world!

Yes it is I work in Auburn.

Oh, my….Do you go to the gym? I go to Auburn Courthouse at the Dewitt Center!

Dscf0071_medium cluehunter 357 posts

No, I have never been to that gym. I work in Dewitt Center and all of the girls in my office walk the perimeter after lunch. I have an exercise room in my home and do most of my workouts there. However, I did try the Shirkula Yoga in Roseville yesterday. It was extremely interesting. Check out their website and click on the Wall workout. You will see what I mean. You hang from a wall in yoga poses. We had a group of 9 girls that decided to try it for the first time together. I was quite the adventure.

cluehunter—I am on day 9, just starting, of cycle 1. I lost 8 pounds at 1 week!!! (I only weigh in once a week} Hard to believe so much weight came off the first week….Only once before in all my life have I lost that much weight in only one week (when I was in my 20’s) Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised, however I know it is water weight and just a gift. I don’t expect to continue to loose that much in only one week. I know, in the past I would be thrilled to loose 10+ pounds a MONTH!!! At 1 week I weighed 176 with 45-50 more to go. If I have it lost by summer I will be thrilled! I understand that this is a life long process. I have alway eaten good food, for the most part, I would say I have been a hibitual “starver”, skipping meals. It started when I raised my kids! Ya know that saying…taken care of everyone else and not taking the time to take care of me..When I get busy I become disorganized and unprepared. As a result, I don’t eat “fast food”, I would skip. Because of my hibitual continuence of this my body would keep everything when I ate and I would gain weight..Slowly (well I guess it wasn’t so slowly). but surely after years (30+ years) I am 50 pounds overweight. Sugar became a daily craving. I think because of the sugar high? I kinow it is hard to believe, as everyone thinks you must just eat and eat to gain all this weight. But, like everyone else it is bad habits, and just as hard to loose. Sometimes I wish I could just not eat at all!! Sounds strange, I know, but when you eat that little, you never get hungry and when I eat normal, and on a regular basis I get hungry as usual. But, it is the organization part I have a hard time with. Like most habits, it is so hard to change. But, I know I have to in order to no jus loose this weight, but keep it off. As far as recipes I like—>I put one under receipes, Talipia with spinach I really love. You can make it with chicken too. I made the turkey burger with onions and f/f feta cheese mixed in it, last night. I liked that too. I tend to cook “basically”. I use my george forman alot, with rubs. I make a lot of chicken that way and add it to my salads(I love salads). I made ground turkey into a taco mix and added it to my salad. I notice you are weeks ahead of me….What are some of your favorite recipes? I hope I didn’t rattle on and on too much…?

califgal – I am on day 30 today. (That’s cycle 2 day 13) I feel fantastic. As of this morning I have lost 10 pounds. I was pretty excited about that. That was my first goal. I have another 17 pounds to reach my final goal. I was just like you. I got busy and started gaining weight a few pounds per year became acceptable. I’m 5’3" tall so 27 extra pounds is a lot for me. I’m 50 years old this year and that was rough for me. But it made me want to get back into shape. Not just to lose weight but make exercising a regular habit for me. I was always active in my younger years but just got out of the habit. Do you have the book? I haven’t tried all of the recipes in the book yet but the taco salad and the vegetable chicken soup are two favorites. I also like the sesame tilapia. We do get to have beef in the 2nd cycle but I’m used to having filet mignon or New York steak. Since we are supposed to have the leaner meats they are a lot tougher. Today I put sirloin steak in the crock pot with onions, spices, garlic, bell peppers and carrots. I have tested it and it is very tender. I’m looking forward to that. I too love salads and find that I crave the fresh vegetables. Sometimes I just put tuna or chicken on my salad when I am at work. I look forward to hearing about your progress. Did you catch the live chat with Dr. Mike t couple of days ago. It was pretty good. I got some questions answered. I too hope I didn’t rattle too much.

jan3sons – My yogurt is fat free but not sugar free. It has 6 grams of sugar and 80 calories for a 6 oz serving. I’m from Northern California and I buy it at a store called Raley’s. I can’t find anything close anywhere else.

Califgal – I tried the BBQ chicken recipe in the book tonight. It has become my new favorite. You should try it if you haven’t already.
