Here’s a healthy twist on something we all love: Snickerdoodles!! Place 1/2 cup of lowfat Greek yogurt in a bowl. Add 1 t of vanilla, 2 packages of Truvia, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon. Mix thoroughly. Yum! Yum! Yum! And an added benefit is that cinnamon has been shown to suppress the appetite!

BellaBearGirl: I tried the Snickerdoodle Pudding . It was FABULOUS! Thank you for the great idea!

Glad you liked it! There are ways to “doctor up” healthy choices and still keep them healthy!

Is this Ok for Cycle 1? I just ordered the book so I haven’t been able to read it yet.

That sounds delicious! I love Greek yogurt, and am always on the look-out for ways to jazz it up and remain true to the diet. So far I’ve just been stirring in sugar-free jam with a little Truvia. Remember ~ ‘sugar-free’ and ‘no sugar added’ are not the same!

Toadie — Yes! I’m in cycle 1also. It’s okay — and good for you too!

Just finished my snickerdoodle — it is so rich and luscious — tastes JUST like snickerdoodles!

The Snickerdoodle Pudding makes a fabulous dessert… I absolutely love it!

Bellabeargirl – is that 1 tsp vanilla “extract”? Thanks
bellabeargirl — Do you think it would work with lemon juice or lemon extract, truvia and vanilla to taste like lemon merengue?
Colasc, yes it’s extract. Sorry about that! Hope you like it! I never thought I’d be able to stomach plain yogurt, but I really like the “doctored up”Greek yogurt!

@BellaBearGirl ~ ’Snickerdoodle Pudding" is fabulous!!! Thanks for sharing!♥♥

I just made the pudding and it was indeed wonderful – and since you can put slivered almonds in the power cookies, I added a few to the pudding and that made it nice also.

One more question – I don’t really like yogurt, kinda sour or something to me. Is greek yogurt milder? I’ve never tried it.

Glad you like it! Let’s all put our heads together and come up with some more flavors. I’m thinking some peppermint extract and cocoa for a Girl Scout Thin Mint. Haven’t tried it yet, though.

Best yogurt dish I’ve had yet! And I don’t really like yogurt. Thanks Bellabeargirl for helping me eat yogurt!

When reaching for the vanilla today, my hand paused at the bottle of banana extract. Hmmm! Now what could I combine that with? Maybe just banana extract by itself? I’ll let you know!

Colasc — It migh be a little milder. It’s a thicker consistency — more like frosting. The cinnamon and Truvia hide the “bite”. I’ve never been a fan of plain yogurt and I’d always buy fruit flavored yogurt. I’ve tried a boston cream pie flavor that is REALLY good!

Maisie — I almost picked up banana extract at the grocery today. Try it with some cocoa and Truvia. People make chocolate covered bananas, so I picture that a good combo.

Colasc, you made my day! Thanks!

I have never heard of Greek Yogurt. Would I find thid in the store where other yogurts are found?
Yes! Dannon makes it. Oiko makes it. There are a few brands. It’s thicker than regular yogurt. My grocery moved it by the regular yogurt. If you don’t find it there, try over where health/alternative dairy products are. It might be mixed in with the kefix or milks without lactose, etc. Or just ask at the info desk.

Harlo, check the web for a ‘recipe’ to make your own version of Greek yogurt with regular plain yogurt. All you need is a strainer and some cheesecloth [a coffee filter will work too]. There are many sites that will show you how to do it. (You can make flavored ‘Greek’ yogurt by using flavored yogurt!)

I tried the peppermint/cocoa combination ~ Boy! Do you have to be careful with peppermint extract! I had to throw my first sample away. The next time I try it, I’ll dip a toothpick in the extract and draw that through the yogurt [LOL]!! Seriously, start with a few drops and build from there.
