I found a recipe on this message board and tweaked it slightly. It was AWESOME! Didn’ taste like “diet food” at all. I served it with cauliflower that I just mashed, adding nothing, and green beans. The cauliflower tasted just like mashed potatoes. The “trick” was that I topped it with Chili Sauce — much lower in calories than catsup.
Turkey Meatloaf
Ground turkey
1 T Worchershire sauce
1 tsp Onion powder
1 tsp Garlic powder
½ tsp Sage
Low fat blue cheese
1 medium onion, diced
Handful of spinach
1 egg
Cracked red pepper
Chili sauce
Mix all together and top with a thin layer of chili sauce. Sprinkle with cracked red pepper. Bake in 350 degree oven for about 1 hour, until done.

I just bought store brand. It had 3g of carbs per serving.

I just wanted to be sure that you didnt mean actually chili sauce like you would have on hot dogs or something

You HAD to paint that picture didn’t you. Ahh…. a hotdog drenched with chili with onions and mustard on top. Now if I got rid of the bun….. Darn sodium!!!

How much ground turkey? A pound? Thank you. :-)

Oops! Sorry. Our ground turkey comes in 20 oz. packages. I used the whole container.

I have this in the oven right now. I can’t wait to see how it comes out! I didn’t have bleu cheese, so I used FF Parmesan as my “binder.” I will let you know how it turns out.

Oh, I don’t know Miki. The blue cheese was what added the flavor! It’s so strong, it feels like you’re cheating. Let me know how the parmesan worked.

Glad you liked it; it’s become a favorite of my husband’s and mine — on or off a diet!

Where are you all finding the FF parmesan? Help!

|
|
|

Now I need to ask you, how much blue cheese? You mix the blue cheese right in the meat loaf, right?
|
|
|
|
|
I didn’t find fat free parmesan, but the harder the cheese, the less fat. So parm cheese is naturally low in fat.
As far as the blue cheese, I cut up small cubes and mix it right in the meat loaf. I’ve never really measured, but I probably use 3-4 ounces — a hunk about the size of an egg cut into cubes.

This is the best turkey meatloaf I’ve ever had. The entire family liked it so much that I’m getting weekly requests for it. I’ve added a twist I stuff the meatloaf into red, yellow and orange bell peppers topped with a can of diced tomatoes.

This is on the menu for tomorrow; can’t wait!

Ta, what an awesome idea. My husband loves this meatloaf too. I’m going to try your twist. It sounds yummy and is another way to add some veggies to the diet! Thanks!

I tried to make a turkey meatloaf and the outside seemed a bit dry, is this normal?

I cooked this last night it it was great. I used FF feta cheese, and poultry season instead of sage….(didn’t have sage). I could have eaten the whole thing.

Made this for dinner tonight and it was a huge hit! My husband and I almost finished the entire meatloaf and now I am stressing that I gained weight..can’t wait to check in the am.

Oh, I have to try the feta variation. With the spinich it would be good! This one is a winner. Doesn’t taste like “diet” food at all. I bet you’ll be fine with the weight Fluffzoey.

I was Bella, didn’t lose but didn’t gain. Making the balsamic mustard chicken for tonight. TOmorrow my son & his girlfriend are coming home for the weekend, he loves my regular meatloaf so will make that for them and make another turkey meatloaf for hubby & myself. I have to admit I do feel more energy.

I used this recipe to make stuffed peppers and it was AMAZING!! And not dry at all, in fact it was super juicy! I cooked it for about 45 minutes because I wasn’t using a big loaf pan. Thanks for sharing this! I look forward to making it again!

I used feta, it was delicious! I also topped it with BBQ sauce instead of kethup. SO GOOD! served with cauliflower mash, it was perfect.
