Just a quick comment on whether or not to get a tattoo. I got my first tattoo for my 50th birthday!!!! It is a butterfly on the outside of my left leg above my ankle. It was very important to me because the butterfly represents rebirth and new life and was perfect for my 50th and I was also 5 years cancer free!!!!

So happy to hear you are now cancer free Linda, and what a special way to celebrate it, and turning 50.
I got my first tat when I was 20 yrs old and since then have gotten 2 more but to look at me (at 55yrs old) you would not know I have one unless you see me on the beach. I am not ashamed of them at all but had them put in places that could not be seen in a professional or formal situation. I also gave that same advice to my daughter and son when they showed interest in getting one. Society has changed it’s views somewhat which I am very happy about but I feel that there are still situations when it is better not to show your tatoo. I think my daughter, as she has aged would agree, she became a teacher after graduating college. I am also glad I was careful where I had my art positioned, now that I have 7 grandchildren…eventhough I am getting ready to get another, as a memorial to my brother who passed away several years ago from Lung Cancer.

I can’t believe Dr. Sears has an 18 year old child, he is too young. Aww!
