Dear Doctors,
Have you heard of Regenexx (Colorado)?
They propose using your own platelets injected into you knee instead of surgery to effect a repair. What do you think and is this procedure safe?

Greg … idk the answer to your question but i’ve heard that it has been done with stem cells, not platelets. From what I’ve looked up, it seems like everyone had positive experiences with it done. But I am NOT a DR. Just commenting on your post.
Melissa.

I wish my knees was taken care of by my many doctors I have seen while I was in the military. Took 3 yrs for someone to finally listen to me (doctor happen to have knee problems himself) and order an MRI. Results was more damage to my left knee ( 40% tear ACL and 30% tear post meniscus horn) than my right. Sadly, that doctor was transferred to another duty station and I had to plead my case, in which I was doing for the past 3 yrs, on helping me with my problems. Before I left the military, I was put on Vicodin, which did help kill the pain but not heal the injury. Fast forward 9 years later…I now was diagnosed with arthritis in that left knee along with pain, swelling, stiffness and grinding (feels and sounds like I have sand in my knees). The Veteran Affair doctor has me on Vicodin 3x a day…I take it only when I can’t take the pain any longer. Don’t want to get hooked on the meds.
