My teenage Jewish daughter was blessed with the traditional nose. She is a great sport about it with no intentions of having it corrected. She loved this video. Her and her dad (same nose) have a band and plan to cover the song. Lighten up, it’s funny

I’m sorry, I’m so tired of people being afraid to offened some one! Don’t just pick out one item or situation. I get the issue on the medical field, but looks like if it didn’t concern this field you would ignore it. What about songs out there on beating, drugs, killings, and list goes on. What about the Arican American’s calling each other the “N” word? Don’t see you making an issue of that but your upset about a Jewish person making fun of another! Very one sided……

An individual that has experienced this has a different context than someone that has not experienced this and can be the difference of dealing with and being rude and mean.
I just heard about this on the Doctor’s Show and I found them to be over the top beating him up. I thought the ending was great, it showed that getting his nose done made no difference to the girl. So you do it for your self, not for anyone else. Just be proud of yourself. Unfortunately there is a lot of crap people impose on others whether religious, weight, orientation and whether it is his to or not slams it all and I am glad the ending with the girl was the most important part. It is also an art to bring humor something ill mannered and mean rather then letting it define you.

I also enjoyed the song, esp the ending which really emphasized how shallow the girl was that he was changing his looks for. I’m not Jewish, so not sure how insulting that part might be, but since the band is Jewish seems if they can accept this as funny then others should be able to, also. (Being Italian I can laugh at those ethnic jokes if told by other Italians). Hopefully others will just be able to look at it lightly, esp the Board.

First off, the people on t.v. complaining about all this are not even Jewish! They think that by putting this guy down they are doing this great thing for a group of people that they minoritize when really they should not be offended and shouldn’t be pretend to empathize with a group of people they know nothing about. Honestly, as a Jewish person I am personally offended that you are acting like this personal attack on you when this has no impact on your life at all.
I thought this video was very funny. How are you supposed to live life if you can’t even make fun of yourself? We have all been made fun of and/or make fun of ourselves, whether we are Jewish, Asian, Black, Hispanic etc. This has been blown out of proportion. I did not appreciate “The Doctors”, not even giving the Doctor a chance to speak. All they did was attack him. No matter what, someone will always be offended by something.
Newsflash: The girl didn’t even want him after the surgery- clearly this video shows that you have to get surgery because you want to and not for other people.
In the South Park, Kyle has a stereotypically Jewish mother, and his dad is a laywer. Sylvia Fine from The Nanny is also supposed to be a stereotypical Jew. I don’t hear people giving those shows a hard time about that. Those shows provide entertainment just like the music video.
All in all, leave this man and his video alone. He did nothing wrong.

I think the video is trying to bring awareness to those who are young wanting to get plastic surgery to impress someone else. I believe that it is showing how superficial people can be when it comes to others. In the video it shows the guy getting a nose job done to impress the girl but after he gets it done she makes another excuse. It truely shows how far kids in school will go to be someone’s friend or to be in a relationship. However, even though I make the reference to kids in school it also refers to everyone out there who is trying to keep or get someone. The video is kind of bringing light to how insecure people can be when it comes to others.

I really enjoy watching The Doctors on the whole. However, on the issue of the video I feel that the panel was inappropriate in it’s reaction.
I can understand that some people may take offense to the humor, but if the issue was about in inappropriate connection to the medical field, then why wasn’t the criticism limited to that? I found the video funny and suspect many other people did as well.
The panel viciously shut down any reply from the surgeon under fire. To me, this is nothing but a bully tactic and always indicates the party in the wrong as far as I am concerned. You can disagree, just show some respect!

i find this vedio funny, and i cant believe that your show would blast the dr and the group for doing it. if you really want somthing to bellyache about find the dr in california who said the he discovered that if a person who smokes to have braine surg to stop the erge to smoke, as a person who has had a stroke, that doesn’t now you tell me who needs help here. that dr.to me is looking for money and bussiness. i find that very upsetting to any one who has suffered a stroke, that is not a fun road to travel. strokes steal things from you that you will never never recover. and for a dr. to to even sugest of having surgery to stop something like that is appauling. and for the drs i think you all that all three of the drs need to tell that group and the viewers that you sorry for blasting them we all need some humor in this day and time as do i very badly. i never heard Travis say anything negative to them but the other was very rude to them. something is wrong with that dr.who wants to oper.on people to stop them from smoking. to even think of having another stroke in the next 24 hrs i would end my life today thats just how bad they are, am i saying that i would end my life, no i’m saying if i thought i was going to have one i would end my life today.people need to lighten up, i know how it is to be able to stand one min, and have to struggle for the next 9 yrs to walk again. give me a break and lighten up, god forbid anyone to have a stroke, while i was in in rebhab for 5 months i told my wife why didn’t you just let me die and get it over with. strokes causes so much more problems than you all know. now my kidneys are shutting down, and i’m tired, of it all my whole world changed in an instant. people need to be gratful for having health cause mine is gone now, since my ordeal i have learned to be or try to more understanding and at times it’s very hard when your body doesn’t work like it used to. so sorry to ramble but this is my life now, no comphenion,i cant count money,no short term memory, i drag my leg, people treat me different now that hurts me more than anything.i dont want to be treated differently just treat me as you always would.

I know Dr. Lisa was complaining about the Jewish plastic surgeon’s video parody AND when she said doctors should be held to a higher standard she falls short given that most “health” care professionals do not seem to follow a healthy lifestyle. It is unethical that medical professionals are incongruent with what they say and what they do. I’ve been to a facility that had a morbidly obese nurse practitioner and every staff member was clearly obese. I would like to see people in health care exhibit optimal health and be diligent about their own health; that’s being held to a standard. It should not only be a requirement, they should WANT to demonstrate optimal health. For example, certain highly trained financial professionals must go through background checks to verify their own financial fitness before obtaining licenses or employment in certain positions or with certain companies. It’s a crazy system that is full of doctors on down to front desk staff who are riddled with lifestyle diseases and who consume poor quality processed food and call themselves part of a “well-care” team. Talk about UNETHICAL!
Most medical doctors and I’d bet most of those on the show have not had one nutritional class in their college or doctorate training but dispense popular advice and information that does not line up scientifically and/or is not beneficial for optimum human health. Much of it is just marketing. A pill for every ill is not the cause of health. Absence of symptoms is also not inherently “health.” Daily healthy choices and actions create health. We can only be as good as our weakest link.

Oh lighten up Dr. Lisa. It was very funny and a bit ridiculous. How could anyone possibly take this seriously?

I agree! the point was the nose job did not get the girl! That made it funny! A lot of prople have big noses and are not Jewish! I felt the panel bullied the Dr. who sent the video to his patients. It wasn’t even a commercial! For the record I don’t go to doctors who have tv commercials. If they have to do that, I think they are not good Dr’s! Good doctors barely have room to fit in their own patients, and lots don’t take new patients. When he said he had only sent it to his patients AND he is JEWISH makes me think this bashing was not appropriate at all. It made me not want to watch the show anymore. A bunch of bullies. That poor guy deserves an apology. At least that’s what I think. Most of what I was going to say was said above, I love it! So glad some people can see a joke and recognize it. That was just sad.

I agree, lighten up! It was funny and clever. People need to stop getting so offended and learn to laugh again. Laughter is the best medicine, you know?

Dr. Masterson was keeply out of line about this video it was not directed at her or any body except for the young man who sang the song.. To think that just because she is a dr. she should hold a higher standard than the average person she is so wrong on so many levels.. Just because she has a title doesn’t make her better than any one else. Singers make fun of looks, life, people & race if they don’t like it its simple don’t listen to it. If your uptight because of a doctor showing he can be a real human and not be uptight about life mishaps….
Can’t please all of the people all of the time, but as a series and doctors you can be aware of trying to put your self above

I think that the Doctors took this way to seriously and need to lighten up. The video sends a great message that no matter what plastic surgery is for yourself and no one else because at the end of the video the girl still did not like him after his nose job. The Doctors invited Dr. Salzhauer on the show and barely even let him speak, how rude!!

Dr. Lisa, I love you but you’ve got to lighten up. I love a doctor with a sense of humor like Dr. Salzhauer, they make a visit more comfortable less frightening. You missed the biggest message of all, the very end was “Do it for yourself not for anyone else” as the girl said, there were other “requirements” to be her guy. I felt that was the main reason for the Dr. Salhauer’s video. Make it about you and whatYOU want not what someone else wants.

I really enjoy this show….however…the reaction to this song really irritated me. I nearly changed the channel in frustration with the ridiculousness I was watching in reaction to this song. Amazed! It was funny and meant to be funny. I agree with everyone else here….so glad you changed the subject when you did. I really don’t think it was appropriate to attack that man or his business. I bet he gets more business in response though :) I probably would have never even heard of him or this song if you hadn’t had such hissy fits about it!

I absolutely agree that the video is funny and that the reaction on the show went way overboard.

Dr. Lisa. relax. Our society has become too PC and humor and common sense has gone to the wayside. This doctor and band were simply trying to have a chuckle and share it. You came down on him as if he committed a crime. Why is it accepted that African Americans can call themselves and each other the ugly name, but a Jew can’t laugh at himself? Your reactions was so over the top, that I feel you should apology, publicly, to him, since you publicly denounced him. I think you are a bright, articulate, lovely person and you seem like an excellent doctor. I am not trying to put you down, just open your eyes abit and still retain the respect I feel for you. Thank you for the opportunity to voice my thoughts.

Wow, it’s so great to be able to joke about this. BORING politically correct attitude from the doctors!

Unfortunately, reading all the comments, I haven’t heard anyone speak for those who really have a physical issue (birth defects or accidental burns, etc.,) that can’t afford to pay for plastic surgury and are very self-conscious. This has nothing to do with race but someone’s looks and this video hits a sensitivs spot for those that can’t do anything about their looks and how other people see them and am sure they have gone through or going through what the guy was trying to portray. This video just stresses that all you need to do is to pay someone to change what’s on the outside.tol be accepted… To me and my opinion only, it was insensitive for them to do this and especially plastic surgeons. Those angry with those making comments like mine telling us to lighten up saying we are taking offense, ironically you are taking offence in our own opinions as well. Just because you are confident in your own looks and don’t have a problem should be sensitive to those that are impacted by this video and don’t be so offended that someone else has a different opinion.

Exactly, if you don’t like what the doctors say, you don’t have to watch it either.
