He seems to have the same problem a lot of married couples fall into…getting so focused on having children that they lose sight of their relationship.  Look at Kate Plus 8 and her husband, what’s his name…divorced!  Don’t rush into having kids.  Focus on becoming best friends, becoming more intimate, becoming more committed—THEN you can START to think about kids! 

Now if they divorce, three small kids will be without a parent!  Or will only be able to visit a parent on set day/s. 

Stop being selfish when having kids, and actually think about what that child’s future would be like!!!  If it’s bleak, full of abuse, full of turmoil—WAIT, or decide not to have kids.
