How are you with seeds?  The first thing that popped into my mind was sunflower seeds.  Yum.

Yes, I'm sorry to hear that.  I don't have my 17DD book on me, and I didn't make the recipe while on the diet, so what are the nuts used for...what I'm trying to say is, are they ground up into a powder, or just sprinkled into the recipe in their original form?  If they are just sprinkled in for just a bite or two of flavor here and there as you're eating, what about a few raisins or dates?  I know, I know--they don't have healthy fats or protein and are pure carbs, but maybe if you like the flavor?  Or just leave out the nuts and don't add anything is the safest bet. 

I was trying to find away around using almonds and almond paste for Dr. Mike's Power Cookie.  From what I've read it's good.  I am on C1D15 and a cookie sounds lovely right about now.  I have a pretty serious sweettooth.

Can you just eliminate the almonds and almond paste?  Idk how they'd taste or what you could substitute for the almond paste, but if possible, I would try eliminating both.

I suppose I could leave them out.  I love to bake and I wasn't sure if the almond paste was used as a binder.  I was thinking that it might make the consistency a tad strange

A touch of applesauce is supposed to be a "healthy replacement" binder, maybe if the recipe doesn't work w/o almond paste, try applesauce the second time around.  Good luck!

Has anyone gotten a tummy ache from the Dr. Mike's Power Cookies?  We tried them for the first time today and both hubby and I got discomfort in our tummies.  Wondering if we are reacting to truvia or guava nectar?  Maybe it was something else we ate?
