I went to see my primary doctor yesterday for a follow up visit and he was happy to hear that my headache is doing a lot better. I also told him about strange thing appearing under my right breast. he told me that it could be skin infection so he prescribe me antibotic.
does anyone taken keflex before? I was told to take 500 mg 3 times a day. i was wondering if that's safe? I call my doctor and left a message to make sure he gave me right dose. it seems the dose is high for me. I hope my doctor calls me soon.

Yes, that is a safe amount...I've been on it 4 times a day at one point and was just fine, prescribed by the doctor at that much.

Juli, Keflex is a safe antibiotic. They give a higher dosage to knock it out sooner. Take it with food, because, if I'm not mistaken, that stuff tastes horrible if it repeats on you. Good luck. Bobbie
Yes, this is a safe amount. I've seen people who received 4000 mg in a 24-hour period. You're a smart cookie though. Always question. The Pharmacists who fill the prescriptions also know what the normal dosage is in medications. So, if a Doctor writes a prescription where there is an error, the Pharmacists usually catch it. Those kinds of errors usually don't happen.
