My sneakers are almost a 1/2 size bigger than I need for the toe room, so my toes aren't' jammed together when I go walking. And I have 2 different pairs to alternate. New ones. But every time I go out I come home with a blister or a few. If I dont put a bandaid on every toe securely I will get a blister. I even did that the other day and one came off, giving me a raw blister.
One time I walked for awhile and on the way home the blister was making it hard to walk. As I was nearing my apt the whole blister "exploded" in my sneaker, this time a blood blister. There was watery blood all over the tip of my sock, stained the top of the sneaker (which I only use for emergencies now), and the layer of skin had come off between my toes making it bright bright red with the white skin partially over it. Having one between your toes is the worst. But I disinfected it, put bacitracin on it, then a bandaid after i showered. That one finally healed and I just developed another, similar just smaller.
Anyone have any advice on how to keep your toes from getting blisters while you go walking/running etc. For some reason they are doing this now, and I used to be able to walk double the time with no blisters. Is there a reason for these when you have roomy shoes and all? Any advice welcome. Thanks.
Melissa.

I'm no podiatrist, Melissa, but it's possible your shoes are too roomy and causing the blisters. Find shoes that fit just right, not too big and not too tight around the toes. Also, if I'm going to walk or hike any distance I wear a very light-weight cotton ankle sock in addition to my regular sock over it. The two layers really help prevent blisters. My husband back-packed for many years and back-packers always wear an inner sock when they hike. It's worth trying!
Good luck, and I hope the blisters go away soon and you're back to walking as far as you want to!

Thanks mtnrose! I'll definitely try it next time i go out!

Melissaw72 sounds like you don't have the correct size. Double socks sound like a good idea as mtnrose mentions, I think though you should go and get your feet measured though, so you know if you are in the right ball park!
