I usually walk just about every day. For the longest time, I can't even remember when they started, I would come home with 1 or more blisters, between or on top of my toes. Never failed. My remedy at the time was putting bandaids on every toe to prevent the friction that caused the blisters.
Fast forward until now. I had to see a podiatrist because the blisters got so bad, and my toenails (3 of them) were always falling off from blisters underneath the the nails. Anyway, the podiatrist recommended "wicked" socks (pronounced 'wikkt'), which allow the feet to breathe more when walking. Also, my primary DR recommended the 'diabetic' socks. I tried those too and they work really well also. I have been able to go 2 days in a row without blisters so far with these socks.
So the remedy for my blisters was to first get checked by my DR, and then to wear socks that allow my feet to breathe (both of the socks mentioned above), so my toes can breathe and dont swell anymore. Had to also get a wider shoe also, even though the regular size fits. I waited too long to get checked, so 3 of my toes have so much "trauma" (his words) that they will most likely never be/look like a regular toe again. So always take care of your feet!
Melissa.
