Does anyone wake up from a dead sleep soakng sweat, almost as if you've broen a fever, except with me I don't have a fever. I wake up so soaked to the point I need to change clothes. I don't eat before I sleep either. Doe this happen to anyone and doeas anyone know why I'd break such a big sweat without breaking a fever? Any input appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry for the typos....
Melissa.
Do you take fish oil? You might want to try a different brand. See if that works for you.
No, don't take fish oil. Would fish oil prevent it?

I'm thinking hormones or reaction to medication?
I have to have a fan on all night. I have a ceiling fan over my bed and it is on high. If I have my face turned to the middle of the bed and not right on the fan I can not breathe and sweat like the dickins. I've been off hormones for almost a year and really don't want to go back on them. As long as the fan works, I can stay off them.
Good luck.
It could be hormones. I just looked at my calendar and noticed i have an appt with the doctor in the AM on Monday, and I'll ask if it happens again tonight. I don't think I am sick, maybe I did have a low grade fever ?
Melissa.
I didn't take any meds to fall asleep before hand. Last pill I took was about 2-3 hours before i fell asleep. Maybe it is hormones...I don't know if a fan would do it though. If it happens tonight again maybe I'll give it a try..i am hesitant to try it because whever a fan is blowing on me I get chilled and don't want to get a cold. That's happened before or it was a big coincidence. The only hormones I take is the Ortho Evra patch.

For 2 years I had night sweats and I hated it. I think it did have something to do with hormones. But it seems like when I stopped taking fish oil it greatly helped. If you're not taking any - it must not be your problem. Good luck. Like I said I hated it. I would wake up just soaked and I'd have to change some of my clothes.
Definately sounds like hormones. have them check your LH, FSH,and your TSH . Good luck

I do wake up sweaty. But in the middle of the night, not in the morning. My sheets and my blanket are soaked so are my clothes.
It didn't happend to me before, so I assume it is caused by stress, cause I have been having a terrible, stressful September.
Yes I agree with you having your hormones checked.Mine is from Menopause,it stated when I was 38yrs old. Also when I am a rough day my anxiety comes out at night and that can cause me to wake up drenched in sweat.
Take care.

Hey Meliss, Any chance it's peri-menopause? i don't know much about it, but I believe because of your health issues, it is possible. Good luck, Honey. Talk soon. Bobbie
I asked about peri-menopause to the doctor awhile back and he insisted it wasn't. I can try again but chances are he'll say no. I'll try to though. Thanks for the input.
Melissa.
Doctor's told me for yrs I was per-menopausal,but I know my body and I know they were wrong.IMO
Yvonne
I am pretty sure you are entering the pre menopausal stage. I started feeling hot and sweating at night. when I was 40-45. Not fun but it will pass. That's just part of being a woman.
Okay well I hope its not pre-menopausal as I am only 27 and have been going through these night sweats off and on for 3 years! no matter what i do...I leave the window open and have a fan on and i am soaked the sheets are always wet from my heat. I wake up and it is like i just got out of the shower...I feel like i can ring water out of my hair! Melissa I have never been to a doctor about this yet but am hoping to soon...If you find out anything you can share that would be great!!!
Take care!
Hi Been there !! When your estrogen is very low your body does make you have hot flashes..See you Gyno and have blood work done..??
Had my hormones checked in July and they were all normal. Didn't think peri-menopause. Saw the doctor today and said we didn't need to repeat them now. Perhaps he really doesn't know, given the workup I had done last. This was my primary doctor I saw, don't have OBGYN, though may need to find one. But my primary can't find a cause. That was how we left it. Frustrating but the comment about low estrogen rings a bell. Next time I am in for labs (4 weeks or so) I'll ask for a level because it might make sense given where I am in my cycle. Although not everyone has this problem, which is getting me to think I don't have enough estrogen. Thank you for that Jodi!
Melissa.
Could you possibly be starting menopause? My sister complains of the same thing and it is because she had a full hysterectomy and now suffers from extreme hot flashes.

No, no menopause. And hormone levels are normal. Just saw the doctor. I may need to find an OBGYN to figure this all out but for now I am waiting for next month's labs and I can get another hormone panel done. Thing is so many people think it is menopause or peri-menopause that I am beginning to think maybe it is, despite what labs say (?). Not sure what to think right now. All hormone levels were all normal 2 months ago.

Yes Melissa I do wake up in a sweat and have to change my t-shirts 2-3 times a night. Supposely thats one of the symtoms of my Seronegative Spondyloarthropathy. Sometimes its scarey and I've notice I sweat more around my neck area, Becuz the neck of my t-shirts are more soaked with sweat than any other area of my body. And I feel thirsty also.
thyroid disease will cause it, menopause, cancer also, tuburcelosis, flu, high white count,infection...I have Hasimotos thyroiditis and I get the night sweats off and on...been this way for over 10 years
