Well today was day 14 out of 17 in Cycle 3 for me but has now turned in to day 1 of Cycle 1. I weighed in today with a gain of 8lbs! Im not totally shocked but it certainly was discouraging enough for me to decide to start Cycle 1 today. I had actually planned on starting it on Monday (tomorrow) and grocery shopped yesterday to do so-I had a feeling these carbs were catching up with me (not to mention the birthday party last weekend that may have caught up too!) and have been just aching to get back on Cycle 1. This past week has by far been the most sluggish, energy deprived week for me-hopefully that will make for an even bigger wake up call for my second round of cycle 1. Hopefully I can lose the 8lbs this week and put that behind me! Total weight loss to date is down from 37lbs to 29lbs Just having to type that is enough motivation for make the treadmill time a consistant every day thing instead of the here and there kinda thing Ive allowed my self to get away with!

That makes me nervous for cycle 3! Did you go of the rails quite a bit or was just adding in the carbs?
Tootsie77....Dont be nervous-the first week I stuck right to it and still lost 1lb. The second week I didnt do horribly but it wasnt a normal, meals scheduled perfectly every day kinda week- I had a birthday party in which I did have cake but chose frozen yogurt over icecream, had a get together with the family in which I had some spaghetti with salad but opted out of the garlic bread. So I had a couple down falls but overall did pretty well sticking to the guidelines. To be honest I was shocked to have lost a pound on the first week, it kinda of made me wonder if the 8lb gain was the combination of the two weeks, the first weeks carbs catching up to the second weeks carbs-not sure if thats possible but I do know Im glad to be back on Cycle 1, started yesterday and starting to feel the energy picking up already. I would also highly recommend as much excersise as you can do on cycle 3-like the book says it really helps to burn up those extra carbs you taking in-this is the part I failed at horribly! I think my body just said hmmmm incoming carbs-time to turn off the fat burning mode, and there the carbs sat! The 3rd cycle seems to have mixed reviews, some people do fine, some dont lose at all and some gain-I also have read a number of blogs where people are skipping cycle 3-but I wanted my body to get the biggest shock going back into cycle 1. Dont be nervous and just do your best, just keep remembering cycle 1 will be right around the corner (if you need to go back there!) Best of luck!
