About Me

I am a 46 year old, stay at home mom who suffers with bipolar disorder and have gained weight over the years.  The weight is possibly from medication, but I want to be able to control it. I have a very picky family, so I know that they will not be joining me in this adventure, so I could use all of the support that I can get.  I am 5'1" and weigh 160 lbs.  I would like to lose between 30 to 40 pounds.

Energy.....when?

I am on day 15 of this diet and have not been energized, yet.  Does that mean that something is wrong with me?  I am just soooo tired and lethargic.  I do suffer from anemia from time to time, but it's suppose to be better now.  Feeling this way makes it hard to want to exercise and needless to say....I haven't yet.  Is there something that I should do?

Starting day 15

Well, today is day 15, and although I had a couple of minor slips, I have managed to lose 8.4 pounds.  I still have not worked out, but am planning to tonight when I take my daughter to gymnastics.  Until last night, I had not been able to go to the bathroom, so I was kind of miserable.  With a little help from Miralax, I was finally able to unclog my pipes.  I went 4...

Hi. How are you?

Laurie Fox

Hi Mistif, I know how you feel about having low energy and lethargic.  I feel that way most days.  I was hoping that I would have so much more energy by now too,.  Hang in there and try to keep going.  I am on day 19 and have lost 14 pounds.  I had a small stroke last saturday and have been in the hosptial most of this week but still kept watching my food.  I spoke with all my doctors and they said the diet had nothing to do with the stroke.  I know with weight loss and eating betting we be healthier people.

Hi misfit - don't become discouraged because the energy is not there. I don't have a lot of energy most days. Maybe when we see more weight loss the energy will increase. Good luck.

HI

I have been on antidepressants for the past year and I know what you mean about the weight gain!

DO NOT beat yourself up for falling from the program. This is not a quick fix, it's a lifestyle change. We have to completely change how we think and what we do, It's not going to happen quickly. Acknowledge you had a bad day, didn't stick with the plan and move on! TOMORROW WILL BE BETTER ! We are all in this together and I am here to support you !!!

Hi Mistif,  Thank you for the encouragement.  I finally was able to start exercising yesterday.  It has been so long since I exercised because of health issues, and I'm not a big fan of exericise, but know its important for good health.  I also know that exercising helps shed the pounds along with dieting. I was able to walk my dogs around the block and also did a 1 mile walk with Leslie Sansone walking workout.   I hope you are able to start a exercise program soon.  Congratulation to you too for starting this diet and I pray your journey will be a fun one.

Today was my first day on the 17 Day Diet and it went pretty well.  I followed the diet to the tee.  I'm really missing my Coke, though.  Coke is my coffee first thing in the morning.  I can't wait to see how this all turns out.
