It's C1 D1 for me, and I've stuck to it 100% today! Not much to brag about yet, eh? But I've yo-yoed with my weight for 40 years now, with my only prior success at reaching goal weight on WWatchers. Then I put it back on (all but 15 lbs.) over the course of several years. I'm 60 and had total knee replacement surgery one year ago. That was grueling and I'd rather not put my other knee through it. I am ready and motivated to be healthy again, for the sake of my heart (high blood pressure and arrythmia) and my joints.
A friend is doing the program with me, which will be a good support system and provide accountability for both of us. My only concern is being discouraged if she loses faster than I do! I have twice as much to lose as she does. My goal is to lose 40 lbs. so I know I'll need to go through all 3 cycles to get there.
I've been very encouraged reading the blogs of other Cycle 1 users and to get all the great recipes as well. My cardiologist has been preaching at me for 5 years now to "eat like a shark, lean meats and veggies...period." It would be great to see him in June and have him be AMAZED...not just with pounds lost but what my chem panel blood work numbers will show! I've been pre-Diabetic (border-line diagnosis) and I most definitely don't want to add that disease to my health issues. Time to get tough and get moving!!!

Hi, Welcome! Please keep in mind everyone loses weight at a different rate, so IMO it is not best to be concerned if you and your friend lose weight at different rates.
Melissa.
Thanks, melissaw72. I do know that everyone loses at a different rate; there are so many variables between people. My friend has different health issues than I do, we're on different medications, etc., so I just need to remember that and not get discouraged if she loses faster. It's NOT a competition after all! We need to encourage each other and make that our primary goal. I'll cheer her on and I know she'll do the same for me. It's nice to be on the journey with her, and with everyone else blogging here : ) mtnrose
