replacement vertebra

My fiance has broken his back and now experiences pain everyday pus nerve damage. He mentioned that there are fake vertebra available at a great expense. I have always been curious about what we can do to help ease his pain and stop any further nerve damage. He stopped a car from landing on his friend while at the garage he worked at some time ago and he will not go on disability, he deserves something good in life. He is always there the everyone and I wish we could do something for him some day.
