Dental procedure idea

i have visited my dentist few years ago and he did what he called the beginnings of root canal where he exposed the tooth. Because I have heard so many scary stories about root canal even had a friend that had it fail and had to go back and get it done properly. Would it be possible to cover indepth what a root canal is are there variiationsof the procedure and can it be done in stages. this is one doc I avoid the most because of the cost and what pain I would have to endure through the procedure. Also should you get various quote show do you know if one doc is quoting correct procedure just to mke a lot of money off of you. I woudl say i dont trust dentists as much as docs.

    OMG(osh) the same happened to me. One dentist said another dentist seated crown incorrectly years ago and "might" cause me problems yet didn't say to fix since he was closing down practice. Oh, and never did root canal charged me for. While hoping and praying for an Extreme Makeover suddenly abscessed and tooth next to it and feels like tooth next to that one trying to too like a domino effect. Hurts even as I type. COST $3,000 to fix damage caused by root canal that cost $600. When, I wouldn't charge to get over $20,000 more done the dentist fixing one next to didn't even finish and became aloof and sent in his assistant to finish seating crown next to. Had to go to specialist to redo root canal through crown. Oh, and OMG(osh) once a dentist used left over filling material on my tooth and assistant that question him was not there next time I went... A DMO dentist assigned. Dr. Phil and THE DOCTORS are giving me renewed faith in doctors. The problem is in them so hopefully, I'm so blessed for at least a dental makeover even if not an ultimate makeover before the other one hurting becomes abscessed. I hope THE DOCTORS inspires those not striving for their excellence to strive for too. Sorry to hear I'm not the only person happened to.
