addiction to pain meds

how normal people like me start out on a pain managment program for lower
back disc disease along with fibromyalia and end up an addict to these pills that no longer work but you are addicted to. there are so many of us out there who did not start out to become addicts but have become one. i am now 6 weeks off of them and it was not easy but can be done. i think people like me need to know that you can get off of them and live a good life. i am not good at
writing this down but i can tell you there are so many people abusing these drugs just in my area or selling them for money it is a huge problem for alot
of people.

Theresap, I am so proud of you, I don't think people realize how many people are addicts to these drugs. I have a brother and my best friend are both addicted to pain med. My best friend got on them after her husband kicked her, collapsed her lung, then later started giving her pain medication (methodone, i think) now she is addicted. He gets them from a cancer patient that sell them. She wants to get off them and divorce him but she is scared of losing her job and house.

I am addiction to pain mecs too. I can't take pain soon as I feel pain I go get pain meds. Please help me get out of that.
