Pediatric mastoiditis

Most people don't even know this could happen in children....It is rare but still happens...talk about the symptoms and what to look for as a parent. How chronic ear infections could lead to this and more ear trouble. Are there ways to prevent it? My son who is 4 was recently hospitalized with mastoiditis for 4 days we thought it was mrsa since his ears have been colonized for 2 years now but all the cultures grew psuedomonas....I would love to learn more about recurrence of this and any long term effects for my child...
