When you've had gastric bypass surgery, they tell you to make sure you get enough protein in your diet or you're hair is going to fall out. Well, as hard as I tried to get those 70 grams a day - I did lose a lot of my hair. My hair has always been full and thick...now you can see my scalp where my hair parts down the middle. My stylist tries to cheer me up by telling me it will grow back! I'd like to see a segment on what exactly to do after these surgeries so that you can keep ALL of your hair...and what options are available to you to restore what you've lost. Also, you can only do so much to get the weight down and get rid of the excess skin. Am having my first reconstructive surgery on 25 Sep (tummy tuck & liposuction), then a breast reduction on 10 Dec. That's all the insurance will cover. The arms and inner thighs are considered "cosmetic". Would like to see more on what can be done outside of the OR to reduce this excess (or do we have to save up for the surgeries).

I too have the same issues, wow I wish they would have told me beforehand that all this skin would be hanging. Man it just sucks, it tucks in my clothes ok, but OMG when I unleash it it is just nasty. I don't have insurance anymore so I guess I'm stuck. Good for you to have some of it fixed. I wish you the best.
