Gynecomastia

It’s always amazing to look through letters, e-mails, comments on ProduceTheDoctors.com and Facebook submissions from viewers. One particular topic that caught my attention was gynecomastia, or excess male breast tissue, submitted by CGlass00. We have discussed breast implants and reductions for women but never tackled the subject matter when it comes to men.
I was surprised to learn that up to 60 percent of pubertal boys have some degree of gynecomastia, and while in the majority of cases it diminishes away, roughly 30 percent of adolescent boys are left with some degree of the condition. Further research also revealed that with men who suffer from gynecomastia , no amount of diet or exercise can reduce the excess tissue. This information left me wondering: what treatment options are available?
A 15-year-old old boy, who suffers from gynecomastia, and his mom have the same question. We reached out to a doctor, who is an expert on the condition, and learned that there is indeed a solution!
Tune-in Monday to see the amazing procedure and results!

I know this is a BIG problem for young men. My Son who is now 26 has suffered with this since about 6th grade....he was teased relentlessly about his "Man Boobs", etc., and now even to this day he feels he has to wear at least an undershirt under everything he wears (even when it's 115 here in Phoenix)! And I can't remember the last time I seen him at a pool or swimming that he doesn't wear a T-shirt or something to cover up with. It's sad....and about a year ago him and I checked into possibly seeing a doctor about this, but was told that his insurance didn't cover this procedure, and he couldn't come up with the amount of money it was going to cost him out of pocket....so unfortunately he had to give up his dream once again of getting anything done about it! It's a huge problem in America, and I know as far as my son goes it has definitely affected his self confidence.

Check out this CBS story on one child's story and the lawyer who's going after the Rx companies on behalf of lots of families. I like the lawyer, looks like he'd really fight for the kids. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EE83QVwFo68
