Fentanyl is a medically prescribed drug prescribed for chronic pain issues. But what people don't know is that Fentanyl is an opiate and can cause both long term mental and physical addiction. The original reason for prescribing Fentanyl was because some doctors were being came down on hard by the DEA for the misuse of Oxycontin and Hydrocondone, but seeing someone who has been on Fentanyl for a long period of time is like watching their life deteriorate right infront of you. Fentanyl addiction is a serious problem in the United States and tends to happen quickly and to unsuspecting individuals who have been prescribed Fentanyl for legitimate pain reasons. The addiction happens very fast and once you have a Fentanyl addiction, chances are it is too late to find an easy solution to get off Fentanyl. So what happens if a person who has a Fentanyl addiction says enough is enough, i can no longer take being held prisoner by this medically prescribed monster? They need to find someway to detox. Now Suboxone is one theory, but people are not to high on it because Suboxone is also an opiate. So basically they are trading in one opiate for another, therefore leaving a Fentanyl addiction and starting a Suboxone addiction.
