My son has been researching ways to cut down on his body's sweating. I am an advocate of natural remedies over pharmacuticals and therefore when he came across the herb sage to help with this I said to go for it. It did not help much, so he then decided to speak with a new doctor (at his job) and he is using beta blockers (which I am not too happy about). This is helping a bit more, but still the problem persists and there are risks involved. He has recently come across the use of Botox as a treatment. His findings say that injections can be effective for up to 7 months to significantly stop/reduce sweating. This sounds costly, but most of all, I have never heard of this. He would have to travel to another city (we live in Columbus, Ohio) and I don't know if this is worth a try. Please advise..Thanks, Shirley S.

Most men don’t launder their ties for fear of ruining their favorite tie through the rigorous laundering process. The way ties are constructed, by nature, make them a hard item to launder without ruining the integrity of the shape and style of the tie. I am a Fashion Designer and Entrepreneur have another and more effective solution. Our company, Nova Lorraine has recently developed a menswear collection, Joe Nova, which is debuting an extra-ordinary “Clean Shield” tie as our first product offering. It is the ultimate clean tie! Even without traditional laundering, our ties will remain bacteria free! Please click or copy and paste link to view our ties: www.joenovastye.com
We have recently acquired an exclusive on a “Clean Shield” treatment for ties that will kill bacteria on contact. My husband, a surgeon, believes this will be especially effective for physicians. As you know, the UK has recently banned physicians from wearing ties in the hospital and in the US, many media outlets have brought attention to the issue of bacteria laden ties. Unfortunately, until now, we have not seen an effective solution.
This "Clean Shield" application is through a patent protected, EPA approved coating that does not allow bacteria to live on the surface of our ties. The CDC in Atlanta is currently using this technology for non-apparel application. The coating has been tested to last from 6 - 12 months. It has proven to remain 100% effective, with a 0 reading by the same Illuminometer that was used on your show, even after 10 dry cleanings and 60 machine washings.
Show concept: two ties are measured for bacteria with the Illuminometer after being worn for a period of one day to one week. Both ties would be brand new and never worn. Neither tie will be laundered prior to being tested. One tie will be one of our Joe Nova “Clean Shield” coated ties and the other, a non-Joe Nova tie. The bacteria reading of both ties would then be tested and compared.

I had a comment to make, but cannot find a place to make it. I was outraged at your dumbing down of men, when you announced to all women, they needed to get their men in for Prostate checks. Do you also make the announcement to all men, to get their women in for Pap smears? Or, are you only...

Do you also make the announcement to all men, to get their women in for Pap smears? Or, are you only speaking to the dysfunctional couples who operate in parent-child relationships?

There is a lot of talk about breast exams and vaginal exams, but nothing on how, when and why men should do monthly exams.
When going over the reproductive systems in nursing school, we talked about male testicular exams. One of the other students told her son, which was 14 yrs. how to do this exam and he had a undecended testical. So I thought ok, I need to tell my son he needs to check every month in the shower that he has 2, their round and so on. When I told him this he was surprised, he Said " I only have one". I told him to take a shower and check. And he was right, he only had one. He was soon scheduled for surgery. They pulled his testical back down and was able to save the testical.
Come to find out my brother had the same thing but at a later age, 21 yrs. and had to have his removed.
I think a lot of people, especially single mothers and grandparents raising grandchildren don't know that this is important. and should be informed. There are many problems with infertility, and cancer due to not know. If 2 out of 14 students found it in their children, then that is high odds.
