I think we need more awareness of seizure disorders in our children. I have a 3 year old that was diagnosed with a catastrophic form of epilepsy at 6 months of age called infantile spasms. There is a Yahoo group that I am a part of and we all would like to create some awareness and knowledge of it. Having my daughter diagnosed with this has surely changed our lives forever.

Please help us bring awareness to this disease. My daughter was born with PHACE syndrome and has fought very hard for her life. All of the children with this condition have hemangiomas (birthmarks) and the children and their parents are confronted by many people who see our child's hemangioma ...

Please help us bring awareness to this disease. My daughter was born with PHACE syndrome and has fought very hard for her life. All of the children with this condition have hemangiomas (birthmarks) and the children and their parents are confronted by many people who see our child's hemangioma and react in very inappropriate and hurtful ways! This condition is rare which limits the amount of medical professionals that know how to treat the special cases. As a parent I have not only fought to get my daughter care when she was sick but have fought to get preventive care and knowledgeable Drs to help ensure her future!

PHACES syndrome has a wide variable phenotypic expression and endocrine anomalies may represent a trait of the syndrome and should be always investigated. They may have growth hormone deficiency, pituitary anomalies, hypopituitarism, hypothyroidism or diabetes insipidus.

Share some success stories so that parents, like myself, who were faced with having a premature baby, have some hope. Take a virtual tour of the NICU so that parents are prepared for what is there, what a neonatalogist does, tests your child will have, terms used in the NICU, what your role will be while your child is in the NICU.

There are some great books out there for parents, but many don't know that their child is going to be born premature or are given little notice, so no time to read a book before you are immersed in whole system.

My baby was born at 29 weeks gestation weighing only 1 pound 6.5oz. I didn't know anyone who had a baby that small, who also had the condition Intra- uterine Growth Restriction and certainly did not know what to expect.

Would be nice to see some older adults who were born premature to share their stories and for parents to see that many go on to live very productive, "normal" lives.

Our daughter may always be small...would be helpful to know ways to boost her self-esteem and help her feel good about her small body. Would be nice for others to see the show and not point out continually how small a child is and make the whole issue even harder for the parents challenged with the situation.

I feel this is an area that few, if anyone, has touched on. Could also be combined with other high risk pregnancies, birth of multiples, fertility issues...

Go over the different types of childhood seizures especially abscence seizures and what can be done to treat them. Also go over what can cause the seizures. Abscence seizures may be more common then people think.
